Buy it!!
If you're thinking about it at all, just buy it. You will not regret it. Such a simple gadget and yet I probably use it more than most of my tools. I have another one that is plastic. This is the only metal one I have ever been able to find. It's nice and rigid, and all etchings are very legible. Love it.

Handy tool
People complain about the white lettering wearing off. I just put a coat of polyurethane on it.

Must have shop item at a good price
Picked this up after a YouTube woodworker recommended it, great little item, light and sturdy, easy to read markings, made of metal, just slide the drill bit in the hole and read the width, using it quite a bit, keep it on my workbench, highly recommended

Good, but the paint sucks
It works good for professional use. The only downside is the white lettering rubs off rather quickly. Besides that, it's a solid tool.

Easy reading
Finally, a readable size gauge. This comes in hand in my chop. They should make more tools like sockets, wrenches, Allen's, others more readable.

Easy to read without glasses. Have two. Very satisfied.
INEXPENSIVE: cost less than $8 each.SOLID: Steel. Not flimsy in any way. Like a thick tie plate.PRECISE: Holes match exactly with my Steelex drill set and Carrera micrometer.CLEAR: White lettering on black background. VERY CRISP. Font is good size. I don't need my glasses.DURABLE: The white markings have not worn or chipped. Plus all the markings are engraved on the back!Have used two of of these Irwin drill gauges for 18 months. One is on the workbench or in a toolbox with other drilling items. The other hangs on a string on my clamp cart so it is always handy. Very happy with their performance AND with their durability.

Steel Drill Bit Gauge
I have other, cheaper drill bit gauges but I really like this one. The plastic versions are cheaper but the plastic will wear over time and not be as accurate. And some of the plastic gauges don't have particularly clean and crisp holes. This gauge is very well made. The hole exactly matches the largest SAE drill bit that will just fit into the hole. You can use it to sort your drill bits. What I use it for is to quickly select the appropriate drill bit for a screw or a rivet. You just find the hole that the screw or rivet fits through with just a bit of clearance and then use that size drill bit. I hang this next to my drill press.

Works great paint catches a little
Wonderful product helps find the right diameter on hoses and bolts and drill bits that are not marked and fuel lines also! I love how the metal is stamped incase the paint wears off on one side so big positive on that. Would buy again
