excellent product with great support
i bought this product after looking into a lot of other braces. this brace provides solid support without causing your foot to fall asleep. before, i've been using the spandex type with 2 long bandages attached to it. i've also used the type that you lace up, typically made of leather or like material. i'm sure most people know the type of products i've been using. both provided pretty good support but it was just too uncomfortable to use during basketball. my foot would not get the blood circulation and was just irritating. most times than not, i end up having to readjust and/or just take off the whole thing.i've been using this brace for about 4 weeks now, about 2 times a week for basketball. this provides the support you want without the irritation. period. solid product that does its job. only con i've found is that the ankle cushion is just not enough. i just put a folded sock on the inner side of my ankle and it is perfect.definitely give this brace a look cause it is just great, especially for this price range. nothing else that i've tried (spandex w/ 2 bandages, lace-up, and individual bandages) was this comfortable and supportive.UPDATE: 8/1/2013I've meant to update this review earlier but forgot to. I stopped using the brace when I was looking to get a second pair for both ankles about 1 year after my purchase. The reason why I stopped using them was because I found the Active Ankle T-2 to have superior padding around the ankles (without the need for an extra sock for padding) and the strap that goes around the brace was much larger which felt more secure. In fact, the brace itself was much larger as well. But I'm sure I'll keep this one as an emergency back-up whenever I need one.

BEST ANKLE BRACE I HAVE FOUND!
I have been playing sports my entire life. At my current age I have focused on basketball and that is 95% of what I use this brace for. I have two bad ankles, and one of them isn't just bad but is pretty much made of rubber now. Without a support it will roll over without anything more than simply stopping and/or planting my foot. The brace fits nicely in my shoe and the support comes up high enough to supply ample support to my ankle. I do recommend that you strap the Velcro strop high on the brace as the bottom of that strap can rub the back part of your foot, just above your heel. This can cause a nasty blister or rub that breaks the skin. But I have had no problems since moving it up higher. The one thing I would recommend for this brace is to provide an opening where your ankle bone lines up on the brace. The "cushion" that is provided inside the brace is VERY thin and if you have a sharp or pointy ankle bone like I do, it can become very sore after an hour or two of being active. I have actually drilled a hole to provide comfort.Get this brace before your ankles become rubber like mine. I wish I had worn this before so that my ankles were still good and strong. The truth is, you WILL sprain your ankle if you are active in sports, especially basketball.

No ankle support
A complete lie. This product does nothing for ankle support. I am so disappointed with this product. Also you can't wear it with a shoe it only hurts the bottom of your foot.

good for sprain recovery
Price is good, but you'll get a better fit and more support from a Cramer T2 (I bought both) simply because of better fit/adjustments. Neither is exactly comfortable underfoot. The stirrup will be too wide if you have small ankles/feet . . . the T2 is notably better in this regard (at least the "small" is). If you have larger ankles than mine this "one size fits all" might be fine for you, and the better fit and adjustability of the T2 might not matter. Both give more protection against rolling you ankle than the more flexible "Shock Doctor" type product, but the price is less comfort. Recovering from a sprain I found either the Mueller or the T2 more reassuring than the more flexible things, but today on a roof cleaning gutters I ended up wearing a Shock Doctor because it gave me enough support and better traction/control . . . neither the Mueller nor the T2 let my ankle rotate enough to feel secure standing "sideways" on the pitch. Of course stopping that rotation is just what they are intended to do, but there are circumstances where perhaps they do it too well.

Amazing Support for Recovery – Highly Recommend!
The Mueller Lite Ankle Brace has been a lifesaver for my son! After breaking his ankle in multiple places, we were worried about how well he’d recover and get back to playing soccer. But with this brace, he’s been able to play full games without any issues! It provides excellent support, is comfortable to wear, and doesn’t restrict his movement on the field. I highly recommend it for anyone recovering from ankle injuries—it’s truly made a difference in his confidence and ability to play again. A fantastic product!

Pretty Good!
This brace does a pretty good job. I have size 15 shoes, so I am sure it works better with normal sized feet. For me, it takes two people to get it adjusted to be snug enough to work. The adjustable padding is very good, though could be twice as thick, I would pay a few extra bucks for that. The wide Hook and Loop strap does a very nice job and keeping everything in place. The plastic that goes under the foot needs padding, but a trip to Dr. Scholls resolved that issue. The gell works best! Being made of plastic, it will give and by no means is ridged. However, it does a great job of stabilizing side to side movement. The hinged sides allows you foot to work normally as you walk. As in all things, you get what you pay for. --Would I recommend it or buy another? YES!--
