A bit pricey, but a great wrench for 73mm-14 Toyota oil filters!
I originally bought the Amico 73P-14 filter wrench, which requires a 1/2" (13mm) drive socket (inconvenient) and the filter always gets jammed in the wrench. This Assenmacher (AST) TOY-730 filter wrench solves these problems. The TOY-730 uses a 3/8" socket drive - the smaller ratchet fits in tighter spaces, such as the space between the filter and the radiator on first generation Solara. The TOY-730 is deeper, resulting in less misalignment, so the filter is less likely to get jammed. As others have noted, check the application chart (available on other websites). This wrench is designed for 73mm Toyota 90915-YZZD1 and 90915-YZZD3 filters, made by Denso. Aftermarket filters from other manufacturers may not use a 73mm housing. This wrench won't fit the Toyota 90915-YZZG1 filter (OEM for Avalon and certain Tacoma engines). As other reviewers have noted, the die cast construction of this wrench is very thin, so I don't know how long this will last. Combined with the relatively high cost, I had to deduct a star from the AST wrench. But this wrench out-performs the cheap, stamped sheet steel wrenches (assuming you can find them) - still the best option out there.

Love it
I bought this for our 1997 4Runner. I had been using a metal one for years that didn't quite fit. Finally I got sick of that and I tried NAPA and a bunch of other places and couldn't find one that fit snugly. Then I came to Amazon. This thing is great. It fits like a glove and it's worth every penny.I will agree with the one review that it can get a bit too tight. I was playing with it on a new filter that was not on the car. Somehow it got on there just right and really snapped into place. I had to pop the filter out with a big piece of round bar stock from the hole the socket wrench goes in. I didn't damage it, but doing so put a little dent in the top and I didn't want to take a chance of it failing. I've used it on several oil changes and have never encountered that problem while actually using it on the vehicle. The metal seems thick and I doubt the thing will ever wear out. On the 4Runner it fit such that I could use it to take the filter off from the top of the engine vs. reaching up from the bottom which was nice (it worked equally well from the bottom too). If you're familiar with them that will make sense. It's just a great little product.

AST Assenmacher's Official List of filters for TOY 730
In searching for a perfect fit wrench, I almost ordered the TOY 640. That would've sucked. In further searching AST's website, here is the list (& wrench that I actually need for my '04 4Runner V6 4WD & '03 Tacoma 2WD; this TOY 730): 73mm Toyota Oil Filter WrenchAST tool# TOY 730Make/Model/Year Toyota / Lexus - 4 Runner 2003 - 2004 Toyota / Lexus - 90915-YZZD1 Factory Oil Filters Toyota / Lexus - 90915-YZZD3 Factory Oil Filters Toyota / Lexus - GS 300 1998 - 2005 Toyota / Lexus - GS 430 1998 - 2006 Toyota / Lexus - Land Cruiser 1975 - 2004 Toyota / Lexus - Pickup 2003 - 2004 Toyota / Lexus - Sequoia 2001 - 2004 Toyota / Lexus - Tacoma 2005 - 2005 Toyota / Lexus Toyota / Lexus - Tundra 2000 - 2004----------------------------------

Nice tool but too tight to get off easily
Works very well and tight so the filter does not fall off when installing it. But it is too tight, and very hard to get it off after changing the filter (hard to get to as well). So what I did which seems to work is leave it on the filter, and I just remove it with my 3/8 wrench and extensions and let it drop into a plastic bag. Change the filter and leave it on. Not the ultimate way of doing it, but it works.

It's a wrench, but has a drawback....
This is a well made oil filter wrench that I use for my Toyota Tacoma. It does grip well and assists in turning the filter to remove it.The drawback that I have with it is that it is VERY difficult to remove the oil filter from the wrench once you have removed the filter from the vehicle.I have drilled a hole through the nipple part of the wrench where the socket wrench handle goes and now I can stick a long nail through there. That gives me something to hang on to when trying to hammer the old filter out of the wrench. I had considered throwing the wrench in the garbage because of that difficulty, but once the hole was drilled so that I had something to hold onto when removing the old filter, I decided to keep it.If this wrench had been designed with some way to remove the filter from it, it would have really been a winner.

2016 4-cyl Tacoma
I removed the factory installed 90915-20003 oil filter on my 2016 2.7L 4 Cylinder Tacoma. That filter was stuck like chuck being installed at the factory and even though the engine was warm when removing the filter it required a lot of torque to break it loose. This filter wrench being a cast aluminum design did the job without flexing. I have doubts that I would have been able to remove it without this filter wrench. Also, I was unable to find a stamped steel cheapo at any of the local auto parts stores that would fit this filter; and, I'm betting those probably wouldn't have survived the torque that was required to break that filter loose.

Snugly fits Toyota OEM filters
I had a stuck on oil filter on an older Toyota that measured exactly 73mm between the flutes. Because of the snug fit, it didn't cam off and I was able to remove filter without having to use the screwdriver method. Getting the wrench off the filter required a couple taps from a hammer. If your filter is properly installed and not over tight, I would recommend something less snug. But, it you need something you can put a breaker bar on, this is your cap wrench.

Fits 2005 Toyota Sienna(3MZ-FE) and 2000 Toyota Camry (1MZ-FE)
The TOY730 works with the Toyota brand filter for the 2005 Toyota Sienna(3MZ-FE) and 2000 Toyota Camry (1MZ-FE). The Toyota filter model is 90915-YZZD1.The tool fits a 3/8 ratchet or a 24mm socket. It does not have the "Made in USA" markings that other Assenmacher filter wrenches have. It appears to be made of aluminum. The tool does not slide on and off the filter as smoothly as I would like. There is something about the aluminum finish that causes it to get snagged on the filter housing and you slide it on and off.
