Excellent tire.
After a couple long rides I'm extremely happy with the back tire I bought. It's thicker than the stock tire that came with my mountain bike and the tread patter really digs. I took it through softly packed sandy material and while my front tire sunk into the ground and didn't want to go forward, my back tire just kept digging forward. The bike was sunk about 2 inches down into this sandy material (up to the rims) but I was still able to push forward. That's no feat of mine. I damn near had a heart attack after a couple minutes of that...but the tire got me through it. I'm so pleased with it that as soon as I have the extra cash I'm going to purchase the front tire of the set. Now the downsides, if you can call it that, are the noise/vibration and installation. When riding on pavement there is a noticable and slight noise from the tire along with a slight vibration. You'll get that with any deeply treaded mountain bike tire but be aware of it if that's a deal breaker for some reason. Installing the tire was difficult at first. It had so much slack around the rim that I couldn't see how it would fit. After thinking it over I was able to get the tire snuggly fit to the rim. I had to inflate my tube most of the way full and tuck either side of the tire (on the rim side of the tire) inwards towards the rims. After tucking in the sides of the tire and inflation the tubes the tire fit perfectly. It's a great tire at a great price and I'm looking forward to buying the front tire.

Small but mighty
In a world where everyone wants to run 26+, not all frames support the larger circumference. For those older frames finding a decent rear tire can be a challenge. I was reluctant to buy this tire because I really wanted a 2.3 WTB Trail Boss for the rear but my chainstay clearance was too tight. After my first ride on some technical single track on this tire I’m officially converted. This tire does not slip. On anything. Rocks? No problem. Roots? No problem. This thing grabs like the track on an M1 Abrams Tank. I’m now running this 2.1 Velociraptor out back and a 2.5 WTB Vigilante up front for a mini mullet config. Perfect for my ride style. Just order this tire and rip.

Great Tire
I purchased this tire to replace my original tire on my mountain bike. (I spent a year biking to class on asphalt, this destroyed my tire. Pro-tip, don't road bike with a mountain bike) It was easy to change, especially as someone who was used to changing tubes out from thorns. (Make sure that, when you install this, you look at the direction you put it on, as this is a directional tire) I feel that, with this tire, I was able to get more traction to get a quicker start from a stand-still. It also helps me on the more technical uphill climbs, as I felt considerably less slippage) I would consider this a great tire for all around use. I am not a professional biker, I'm just a guy who likes getting out and mountain biking. I have had this tire now for 5 years with regular use and it is still holding up well (keep off the pavement and these things last much longer)

Outstanding Agressive MTB Tire for loose wet or soft terrain!
I enjoy riding older bikes for their simplicity and how directly they connect you to the trail, and how challenging/rewarding they make even modest modern singletrack. WTB Velociraptors are a classic 90s design that's still among the best you can get for terrain that's even slightly loose wet or soft - basically if you can move material around by scuffing the ground with your foot, these tires will hook up and hold on like you wouldn't believe. The lugs on the back give you an incredible amount of traction when climbing and braking, and the knobs on the front dig into berms and take you safely around loose sloppy corners like you're on rails. They also handle rocks and roots pretty well, I've not encountered any rough terrain where I felt like the tires were letting me down. Figuring out the right air pressure to run is critical - to high and you won't have very good traction or cornering, to low and you're going to have a noisy bouncy ride. You want both tires to slightly belly-out while sitting in the saddle; 35psi rear and 30psi front are good starting points for an adult rider with gear on an average dirt trail. For soft dirt/gravel/loose trails try lowering the psi a few points, but if there's a lot of roots rocks etc you might go up a few points to avoid rim strikes / pinches. These are just starting points, finding the 'sweetspot' for your bike and trail takes a little experimentation. Make sure you freshen up your brakes if you've been riding old tires; you might find your stopping power lacking due to the increased grip these offer! If your frame uses v-brakes, Koolstop pads and a brake 'booster' / boss-brace on at least the rear will make your bike stop just as well if not better than anything else on the trail.

Nice tire
I brought my old Stumpy M2 back to life and bought both the front and rear Velociraptors. Most of my friends have converted their old Stump Jumpers to street cruisers. Not me, I like dirt. And this grabs the dirt like the OG ones did.

Excellent tire, especially for the price.
Overall very good tire for the price. A little on the heavy side and takes a little more effort to put it on, but worth it.

Great tires that I've run before, but...
When I first got this tire on the rim it seemed uneven and out of balance. Upon further inspection I notices the bead wasn't properly seated on one side of the tire. After remounting the tire I was able to fix the issue and the tire appears fine.

Beast
I'm no pro so can't say anything to stone but awesome tire and great grip! Locks up for that split second power slide to get around a corner and straightens right back upright. Awesome to crawl over sharper rocks and stone top. And can handle any incline

Excelente
