I’d stack this against the big names ALL DAY!!
After hours on end and days of research to the point of going cross-eyed, I chose to pull the trigger on this one and I couldn’t be happier that I did! First off, I got it a day earlier than expected so that started the good news. Upon opening the box I was thoroughly impressed with the packaged contents along with the supplied tools needed for assembly. WEN exceeded my expectations with this one! Assembly was a breeze as I had it fully together in 15 minutes. I did purchase a quart of 4 stroke oil as some reviews said there wasn’t any oil supplied with the unit...but contrary to the reviews I’ve read, mine showed up with oil in it and ready to run minus the gas even though I did drain out the supplied oil and replaced it with what I bought to give me a piece of mind to my preferred brand. Being mechanically inclined I gave it a good once over before firing it up and one thing I noticed that sold me on this being a quality product was the fact that the bolt heads had marker lines on them (which means they all are torqued to spec!!) Kudos again to the manufacturer on that one! With all the components being tight and right, I screwed the water hose in and allowed the water to flow through completely for a minute for two reasons...to bleed out any factory debris and also to check that I had water flow through the system to the end of the wand to ensure the air was out of the lines. Ok check check check, pour gas in the tank and let’s give it a whirl. Make sure the gas is on (there is a sliding switch), slide the choke to the on position, turn the run switch to on and wouldn’t you know it THE DAMN THING FIRED UP FIRST PULL!!!!! I quickly switched the choke to the off position and she just continuously purred. While you can’t adjust the psi on this machine, you really don’t need to as you can change nozzles which adjusts the width of the spray to give you the high powered or low powered pressure for different jobs. I ran it hard for an hour but shut it off midway to check the oil level along with making sure nothing loosened up. All was good and fired it back up AGAIN WITH ONE PULL! All around this thing is worth its weight in gold and I would give it nine stars out of ten if I could. The only one knock that I could find is the hose from the machine to the wand. It’s rather cheaply made and doesn’t have much flexibility but it still gets the job done. Overall this thing’s a beast and I’m glad I chose this one, so to the reviewers that put this on their lists....BRAVO...and to the manufacturer, WEN....you guys make a high quality product at a cost that should get you fired! Very well done guys and gals, I know I’ll be enjoying this thing for years to come

Very strong flow
I pressure wash houses and sidewalks occasionally. This is probably my fourth pressure washer in my lifetime,Ryobi,Honda,Generac,to name names, and this Wen is easily the most powerful.Excellent packaging, arrived undamaged.Bengals fan, love the colors.Assembled easily, product included funnel and hose, tools for assembly, and numerous spray nozzles. It didnt include oil,but I do my own oil changes on my car,so I always have some synthetic oil in stock.Started easily, runs well, very strong pressure to clean just about anything, and seems very stable.Extremely pleased, highly recommended.UPDATE:While using this for the third time to pressure wash a house the engine would run for 3 minutes, quit, restart, run for another 3 minutes, quit.I thought perhaps I had filled it with too much fuel so I ran it without the gas cap,and it stayed running.Reinstalled gas cap when fuel level went down and it continued to stall out.I then removed all of the ridiculous vent tubes and black vent apparatus running from gas tank to beneath the exhaust, and it now runs perfectly fine with gas cap on.More EPA garbage most likely.

Good Performance, Well Built - Important Design Flaw You Can Overcome
The instructions for assembly and initial operation provide (a lot of) important guidance, precautions and specification for the fuel and oil. There are a few gaps (e.g., two small steel sleeves are included but not listed as parts or explained in the instructions - but Customer Service confirmed my guess that they should be used under two of the nuts that hold the upper gun hook in place because otherwise it is hard to tighten that connection (first photo below); and it appears the order of prescribed assembly steps specifies draining a hose after it is attached - no big deal).I believe it is important to use a shorter (say, 25-foot) hose of larger diameter (say. 3/4 inch) to avoid starving the water inlet to the pump. My first operating attempt was with a 100-foot hose, and the engine "swooned" continually. With a shorter/fatter hose (as quantified above), that problem disappeared. This situation can certainly depend on the supply pressure in the piping of your house or building. The unit runs well, with high pressure, a lot of flow and evident cleaning power. I recommend getting a surface cleaning accessory for use in large, flat areas (walks, driveways). Doesn't look like WEN sells these. I bought a Westinghouse brand surface cleaner (on Amazon) and it works well (reviewed separately). The design flaw referred to in the title is the positioning of the attachment points for the pressure hose and the supply hose. Yes, the instructions are very clear -- and there is even a warning on the pressure hose itself -- about keeping the hose away from hot surfaces. Wrangling the pressure hose during my first extended operating period resulted in that hose contacting the -- I'm calling it this -- the exhaust manifold, a box where the hot gases exit the system, appropriately labeled "Hot." I don't see how contact with it can be avoided without constant observation and intervention, and that is not practical when one is walking about with the pressure hose doing the cleaning work. The rubber coating of the hose was melted away at the contact point, which is just inches from the connection to the pump and the flexibility of the hose makes the contact point easily reached. I don't think the melting went beyond the rubber coating - that is, it didn't seem to damage the fabric which contains the high pressure (it would be very dangerous if that were to blow through with the unit running). So, I asked Customer Service for advice and they suggested tying the hose to the frame, or enclosing the vulnerable segment of the hose in a heat-proof sleeve (for which they provided an Amazon link), or extending the connection out further from the engine - but it is not clear what additional hardware would be necessary and safe.. So, as the second photo below illustrates, anchoring the hose to the frame with cable ties was the solution I chose. The water inlet hose is also unavoidably close to the "hot" box, and I melted a bit of it during the same initial operation, but putting a hole in the supply hose isn't dangerous, just inconvenient and probably bad for the engine while it is running. Next, I'll rig some way to keep the water supply hose away from the hot component. Today, I coincidentally saw an competitor's pressure washer for sale, and the connections to the hoses and the hot surface are as far from each other as possible within the geometric confines of the unit. Throughout this adventure, Customer Service was prompt in replying and sort of helpful (e.g., approving my cable-tie fix). I'm calling this another case in which the designer of a product should be asked to operate it.Would I recommend this product? Yes, if one is okay with a bit of DYI work. The ratings on Amazon are statistically favorable in comparison to those of similar products and I have liked other WEN devices I've owned.
