Q: how many months doest it work by one filter?

I live in south Texas. Our water is terrible. Very chlorinated with an unbalanced ph level and a 185 score with the zero water particle tester. We use our filter 5-6 times a day. Each filter only lasts about 10-12 days before the numbers start to climb with the particle reader. At this point, we need to change it because our nausea and IBS returns. So, for 10-12 days of use, it’s expensive, but worth it. Zero water filters everything. EVERYTHING. Where we live, we require to use it to stay healthy and mentally fit. I back this product 100%. We’ve tried all sorts of bottled water and lived in multiple places. If your tap water quality is poor, use Zero Water.

Q: I've been reading about unsealed filters. Are filters purchased through ZeroWater via Amazon sealed and therefore, uncontaminated?

My filters came in proper packaging and sealed. I opened the filter and it was wet. I put it in and filled the container with water and after it was filtered I tested it. It had a reading of 8. I decided to empty the container and try again. It read 6. I looked on the packaging and it said to be sure it was properly threaded which it was. I unscrewed it anyway and screwed it back in and tightened it a little bit tighter than I had before. The water now reads zero.

Q: Does this filter fit the ZD-010 10-cup water pitcher?

Mind Dancer - I had the same problem. Finally got it screwed on after many tries. The threads on the filter are different than the threads on the pitcher. Did you have any luck with any other of the one's you received?

Q: What is the shelf life of these replacement filters?

I'm not sure about the shelf life. Never thought about it and you bring up a good point. I usually buy the 8 or 12 pack because we need to change out the filters every three weeks. I actually have two large, 23 cup dispensers. One is in the refrigerator, and other is left out for cooking, so we go through them quickly. One thing about the one not in the refrigerator - it does start to develop a moldy smell, I suppose from the moist condition of the filter and room temperature combined. I wash it out regularly as a result. I read other reviews stating the same problem with the larger dispensers that are left out of the refrigerator, so I suspect the problem is universal and not specific to this product.
