Bought this for a cosplay but ended up loving it and now it is now a regular use bag for me, it can hold a good amount of stuff. I is fairly lightweight and looks great with any outfit

I've noticed that messenger bags tend to be too heavy, even without anything inside - probably because either the sturdy canvas material is already heavy or because the padding that gives these bags structure is heavy for whatever reason. This Rothco bag, on the other hand, is pretty light and stays light if you don't put too much stuff in it or anything heavy inside. The bad side of this is that it's a bit floppy and somewhat unstructured; it'll even bend forward or sag on the underside, depending on how the contents are fitting in it. Still, the real leather straps and the style of the bag are really nice. The canvas material is somewhat soft, in my opinion, but might be rough or scratchy for those more sensitive. The durability seems average; there's not a lot to break just because there's not a lot of complexity to the product or its parts in the first place, but it's also inexpensive so let's expect what we pay for. Some commenters are saying that the metal piece on the shoulder strap broke for them and I don't know if this is true, but from I've noticed, it can just come off. That doesn't mean it's broken though - it does work - just that it needs to be secured back into place better. The shoulder strap is pretty short, only adequate if you're around 5' to 5'5 or so, in my opinion. This bag might be perfect if the hardware were nicer, it was water-resistant, and the bag had something inside to keep it structured. But for the price, it's hard to find much else better. I love the brown color option that is offered too, it's just what I was looking for and can be hard to find these days. Would recommend it overall.

This bag is perfect to carry my sketchbook and travel watercolor kit. I have room for everything I need. I have taken my satchel to the beach, the gardens, and on various road trips. The bag is made well, comfortable to wear, and easy to open and close. It is the perfect size for the plein air artist that likes to sketch and paint on location.

Found this to be an excellent carry-all. It can easily carry up to a 2 inch binder with ease. Rugged and durable, highly recommend.

Buy it. I bought it november 2022 and its never broken since, its been through all kinda of terrian and the canvas holds up strong plus with time it gives it a really kickass look. You can fit some folders, notebooks, small laptops.

The bag is nice, but smaller than the dimensions specified in the product details page. The bag measures approximately 11" x 11", not 13" x 13". Unfortunately this fact renders the bag too small for it's intended purpose in my case.

I have been using this every day for over a year, stuffed to overflowing with work papers, and it is holding up well. It is cheaper and more durable than my old briefcases, and it has some of a certain Dr. Jones' flair which I get a kick out of. It can hold a lot of legal pads or a 16 pound shot put, depending on the day. It is fairly water resistant walking from my car to my office in some rain, but probably not waterproof -- I am not going to test its limits. It is just a basic bag with no compartments. I rarely secure the top, but just flop it over. The leather and buckle to secure the top flap have worked well enough and strong enough when I did use them. I may get another if I need 2 to lug around, but the one I have is still in good shape. It is a good utilitarian piece.
