The fan is beautiful and well built but it does have some major ...
Bought this fan to replace our bedroom fan when the light kit on it broke. The fan is beautiful and well built but it does have some major flaws /draw backsPros:1) Extremely attractive2) fan is very fast and moves a lot of air3) fairly quiet. There is the normal buzz you hear with most fans, maybe slightly higher when on high because it is so fast but honestly once the blades start moving the sound of the air moving drowns it out.4) extremely well balanced, no rocking of any sort the way our old fan would rock5) no chains, when the old fan would sway the chains would hit the light kit and go clink clink clink. The lack of chains elimnates that issue but causes other as you have to install the remote to control the fan speed.Cons:1) the lighting. I read how bad this was and am still surprised, definitely not meant to be the sole light source for any room, it comes with 2 40 watt incandescent candelabra bulbs. Many people claim that if you hard wire it it gets better or that it is set dimmed when you initially hook it up, but it’s still just two 40 watt bulbs. It’s not going to give off much light that way. I hard wired mine because we had 2 switches on the wall, one for the light, the other for the fan. Not sure if you are supposed to do this. Instructions only plan for a single hot wire to go to the receiver, it has an internal switch to deliver power to the lights. The light kit has an insulated pad that touches the lights. On it is a sticker that sets: warning, fire hazard, do not use more than 40 watt incandescent. And it means it. After having the provided lights on for about ten to fifteen minutes while hard wired I took the cove off to replace them with some candelabra leds I found in my closet. The glass was so hot I had to let it sit for ten minutes, then I noticed the warning label had already melted off and the metallic covering on the insulation had torn. All this after 15 minutes use, max? Use led bulbs and don’t rely on it as a primary light source for the room.2) it says it comes with a longer down rod for vaulted ceilings. The short down rod is maybe 3 inches, the long one it comes with is 6”. For our vaulted ceilings we had to buy a 24” down rod separate. On the plus side the wires from the motor were plenty long to accommodate a longer rod of almost any length. We still trimmed a few feet off.3) quality control on one of our fan blade arms was lacking. The threads were incomplete and I was not able to fully seat the screws on the fan blade. I was forced to grab washers from my old fan blades in order to sufficiently hold the fan blade in a way that it didn’t just wobble around on the arm.4) be aware that the only way to control the fan speed is via the remote. The remote case seems to be built for a single switch electrical box. Since ours is a double with two switches I am not sure what the best option will be for mounting the switch.

Excellent quiet fan for the price
Great product! I needed a super-quiet fan for our home office. The old one was so noisy! When I started to put it up I realized the old fan was incorrectly mounted, and there was no proper support for a fan - so doubly glad I installed this one before the old fan came crashing down! The mount on a cathedral ceiling has to be positioned in a certain direction - it's a shame they haven't thought that through a bit more. A bit of a redesign of the bracket would make it much easier to mount to an existing fan support if there was a way to reposition the U-shaped opening. Anyway, not a problem for me. The space provided in the mount for the remote control receiver is VERY tight. with ceiling wires, the grounds, and the four wires coming off the remote, it was a struggle to fit everything in. And they don't mention the antenna, which may confuse some people - it's a white wire that just hangs out of the box and doesn't connect to anything. The unit we received had some holes slightly off alignment; one wasn't properly threaded, so I had to leave the mounting screw out. It just held the light surround, so I'm not worried about it coming loose - and I wasn't about to try and repack the whole thing because one screw didn't fit. (Picture of part shown below.) Talking of lights, this thing is barely a night-light; if you are expecting this to be a main light source in a room, you'll be REALLY disappointed. There are also no strings to pull, in case you want to control this the old fashioned way. So if for any reason the remote stops working you're SOL. Ideally, the light would be brighter (maybe LED?) and dimmable from the remote. In operation it truly is quiet. Easily good enough for a bedroom. Of course fans make 'whooshing' noises as the blades rotate - but there is no detectable motor hum. We're ordering a second unit because overall we're very pleased with it. And having installed it once, I know all the tricks and problems that will occur the next time around...UPDATE: It turns out there is a way to turn the light up - hold the light button down and after a while it changes to brighter, then eventually back to dim. Let go when you get the right level.

Esperaba mas
Por los comentarios esperaba más de este ventilador, el diseño es muy bonito y ya instalado se ve estético, sin embargo queda a deber en cuanto al flujo de aire ☹️
