Aden and the Indian Ocean Trade: 150 Years in the Life of a Medieval Arabian Port (Islamic Civilization and Muslim Networks)

I really liked this author’s approach to the primary source materials, including the Genizah manuscripts. She does an admirable job describing the geography and topography of medieval Aden and its features (like the Crater and causeway to the mainland), many of which no longer exist: lighthouses, breakwaters, etc.
