Does not work!
I had a single sided 36 inch High Limb hand Chain saw that was pretty good. It is about 16 yrs old. I needed to cut several dead limbs from a live oak tree. I thought a new one would help me get the work done. I read the info on this PockeTech 48 inch double sided Hight Limb Hand Chain Say and thought it would be just what I needed. Saw other reviews complaining about it jamming but thought it was just people that did not really know what they were doing. Since I had already had one and new how it would work, I ordered this one. I tried it on several tree limbs over the next two days. It would jam every time no matter what size or how high or low the limb I was trying to cut. I never got it to cut thru a single limb! My advice is read all the reviews that said it just kept jamming and was not very good, because they were right. Sling shot included was a joke also. Maybe I just got a bad one, but I Would not advise anyone to buy it. I am now back to using my one sided 16 yr old one, it works still.

Nice saw, junky slingshot.
Great rope chain saw. Terrible sling shot. The saw was nice and sharp. It cut great. Yes, you can get the blade stuck easily, so you have to practice to get good. Don't practice on a high, thick limb. Practice on some low limbs that you can get to with a ladder when you get stuck. Only after you get proficcient shoudl you try higher limbs. The slingshot is terrible. After only a few uses, one of the bands on the left snapped off, causing the lead shot to slam into my thumb instead of fly through the center of the slingshot. I inspected it and found that the small bb had come out of the tubing.Fishing line? Nah. Get yourself a real throw weight (12 oz) and throw line (1/8" braided poly). In fact, I can do just as well with a real throw line setup without the risk of breaking my thumb. If you want to use a slingshot to throw line into a tree, get or make an arborists slingshot. It is basically a slingshot on a long board, which is capable of throwing a real throw weight and throw line.

Great little saw with teeth on both sides.
I had purchased a 1 sided high limb saw and was so frustrating to use. It did work good on low hanging limbs but drove me crazy on the high limbs so i just quit trying to trim the limbs. After a few months passed, I decided to give it another try with this 2 sided saw. So much less work when you get the saw over the limb and just cut, unlike with 1 sided saw that i spent hours trying to flip the chain over so teeth were on the right side to cut. Now its not easy to cut limbs 35 feet up but you can do it as i have. The chain is like a real chainsaw chain and as a logger used to sharpening chains, i assumed it would need sharpening often but so far i havent had to sharpen it so a quality chain for sure. The rope wasnt long enough for limbs as high as i was cutting but no problem getting a longer rope. Would i buy again? Yes but doubt i will ever wear this one out lol. Should last decades if you keep it in a dry place after using and chains that dont cut into the dirt, almost never will need sharpening. If you want to try trimming high limbs, buy 2 sided chain or be ready for lots of cursing as you try to flip a 1 sided chain over to cut lol.

diy saved us over $2,000
the chain worked - we had lost a part of a 60 foot maple that came down in a storm leaving us with 3/4 of the tree remaining - honestly we did not use the sling shot that came with the kit - we used a ladder and a pole to get the chain where we wanted it to go - we cut a 20 inch limb as our first cut and it worked quite well - we used a 2x2 through the handles so we could use it in a rowing motion using two hands - we are both in our mid sixties so this was something we had not done in years - I have to admit I had little faith it would work but it did and beyond my expectations - it took about 15 minutes for that one huge limb - smaller limbs within a couple minutes - the two sided cutting was a must - it never got tangled or stuck - we will be using this on other trees - a good buy for sure

Pinches chain when limb is cut part way, so very dangerous
Interesting idea, but works poorly. I bought this to trim off a couple of limbs that were out of reach of my pole saw. It was very difficult to get on a step ladder and throw the weighted ropes over a high limb. Once I did, the weight was not enough to pull the rope over a limb, so had to pull it back, add a bunch of large washers and nuts and do it again (another 30 minutes). Once over, I pulled the chain into place and it cut well until about 3/4 of the way through, when the limb began to break and sag, pinching the chain so it would not move. Now the limb is hanging precariously so you can't go under it, and the chain is jammed. So another 45 minutes to throw another very long rope over and get it around the limb and pull the limb out and away from the tree to free the rope chain.at 7/8 of the way through , the limb pinched again, and I had to stand near the top of the step ladder and use my pole saw to lop off some of the limb so it could be pulled and twisted to free up the rope chain (take 2 people, but I was lone, so another 30 minutes). Limb finally free after about 2.5 frustrating hours....2nd limb only took an hour as I now knew what to expect. This is a very dangerous tool, as it puts you in dangerous situations trying to free the chain. And you will still need your pole saw, so best to just use the pole saw from a well anchored ladder (or hire a tree man) and avoid the additional risks this rope chain causes.Note sure who you would sue if you were injured from the dangers this rope chain puts you in...I don;t write review very often, but I bought based on reviews, and I believe most people use this to cut limbs about 10 foot up, not 20-25 feet as I needed it for.
