Bulldog Remote Talking Alarm System

After reading so many reviews on this product I took the chance and made the purchase. Installed on my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L V8 this was a very simple install. The self tapping screws drilled themselves very well into the drivers side fender with decent force however only a screwdriver was necessary, no drilling. The commands all work very well with the key fob and the sensitivity settings that come from that factory are honestly great. I live in an apartment complex and noticed the first week my truck would always say it was tampered with everyday due to loud vibrations of passing vehicles and people talking/walking by. I set the setting by using the 50% decrease option and it has been perfect for me ever since. If I was a home owner the stock setting from the factory is great however I needed to tone it down due to the high volume of traffic near by. Now with the 50% decrease it takes a decent hit to the truck to set it off but not something Super hard. I love this product and it was exactly what I was looking for. Instructions are very detailed and honestly the reviews on here stating the sensitive is off are either inaccurate or they received a lemon. Mine has had no issues in that department once properly adjusted to your environment. Along with that I will say it is loud but not super loud. I would say you can hear the voice clearly from about 40 yards away. Anything after that is pushing it or you won’t hear it. You can’t hear it indoors if you have your window closed. However I bought this as a deterrent and truthfully it gives me peace of mind to set it and have the truck say “I am Armed” in front of people to let them know not to touch. Also the “I was tampered with” is very nice to know and inspect to see if anything has in fact been taken gives me genuine peace of mind as well. Along with that I’ve had it on for about 2 weeks now with no starting issues or battery drain problems at all. I think the people with those problems don’t drive their vehicles often enough to recharge the battery or let the alternator really take control. I’d truthfully give this product 4.5/5 stars with my only complaint being the noise could be louder. Aside from that the fob even works at a good distance maybe 50 yards I’d say and this is a GREAT addition to any vehicle!

First of all I was very impressed to have received the Bulldog Alarm so quickly! It arrived well before the estimated delivery date! If you're looking for a very effective, cost efficient alarm that has the SAME Quality as more expensive alarms this is the one! As for sound volume the Bulldog alarm is VERY LOUD!!! I was very impressed. It does everything it's supposed to do. I also love the panic feature should you feel threatened. You can even set it off in panic mode should you feel threatened while driving! It also very easy to program the alarm as well. The Bulldog alarm delivers everything it says and my opinion it is well worth it! If your looking for a top quality alarm that's very inexpensive, I highly recommend it! Now I can sleep a lot better at night and at ease, thanks to the Bulldog Alarm System. Cheap alarm, outstanding quality!

I bought one of Bulldog alarms about 15yrs ago and it worked as describe but this recent purchase didn't do as well. The sensitivity control is way too sensitive, alarm falsely goes off if a dog barks too close to your car, even after making recommended adjustments to prevent false alarms and the alarm states it goes of with any battery current changes such as a dome light, but that isn't the case on this alarm, I set the alarm, open the doors, dome lights go on and I even turn the key to turn on lights and radio and alarm never goes off until I actually start the engine. Major disappointment in this product. Time to invest in a professional alarm.

It is most definitely a very good system for cars that don't have power door locks. The only thing is that if your car has a small engine compartment and is mostly enclosed all around, it doesn't fit. That was my personal problem, but everyone said that for the price, it is a very good car alarm !!

All in all, a decent little system for the money. Consider the non talking for $20 bucks cause the talking can get old quick. It says 10 minute install and I'm sure that's possible, but I took about an hour to do mine due to my soldering a lug in place of the clip and routing the wires with ties etc. You might want to wait for the warranty to elapse before cutting but I couldn't stand the cheesy alligator clip connector for the pos. hook up so I modified it right out of the box. Ok, the one thing I wish worked better is the shock sensor. I have an 03 4 wheel drive Silverado with custom lift making it a fairly stiff suspension. But it rides nice and most trucks I have ridden in are stiffer so truck people pay attention. The tapping on the hood method of setting the shock sensor is highly inaccurate and nearly impossible to get right on vehicles with firmer suspensions. You have to hit it with a bat to get it to do anything and I have yet to hear the "Move away" message and I've had it a month. The shock sensor would benefit from a more precise way t o set it, till then it's either off or on. Bottom line is it is what it is. Your not gonna get the quality or features of a higher tier brand, but you won't spend $250 on it either, or have to hook wiring to lights, door locks , starters, well you get the idea... Overall a solid buy.

This all in one unit was very simple to install. I use the 50% sensitivity mode most of the time to avoid false activation due to weather and heavy trucks driving in the area. This alarm does what I need it to do. I only wish the remote was smaller since I have 3 remotes on my keyring.

Cheaply made! Remote too large W/limited range. Mounting bolt holding alarm to vehicle immediatley stripped during installation. Small plastic mounting, holding alarm to car snapped off- now held to vehicle using tie-wire. Cheesy voice alerts;now using chirps & siren mode only. Do NOT recommend you buy!

This is not the first time I have used this alarm system. It’s worked flawlessly in the past. How ever with the purchase of these two. Both had. Dead remote batteries and once changed. The alam boxes them self have something inside them ratteling around. And on power up for the alarm. One started smoking right away. Now I’m a automotive and heavy duty mechanic and this is a one wire hook up to a 12v battery. Sooo the install wasn’t the problem. And as I tried the second alarm. That one worked but the volume for the alarm is very quiet,,, so my rating for the product is extremely lol. As I only paid a small amount for these but used them in the past didn’t expect to see this happenShipping was fast however
