Honeywell Vista 20P and 6160RF Keypad Kit Package

The system arrived on time, well packaged and worked right out of the box. Very impressed with the functionality and build quality of the Honeywell Vista 20P Alarm system, and the price was just right. This unit has some unique features that I did not know about before I purchased it : zone configuration, partitions, event logging, and zone doubling. I will be using all of these in my home application and there are lots of youtube videos to help guide me along. I opted for the 6160RF keypad because I wanted to add a few wireless sensors later on in areas where running wires may not be the best option. Plus, I like the idea of using the wireless keyfob for arming and disarming, instead of time delay entry/exit. Very nice, large, backlit, easy to read, two line LCD display and keypad feels good to the touch. I am very happy with my purchase and will be acquiring various Honeywell sensors and accessories as the need arises.

I have used a Vista 20p for many years and am very familiar with it's capabilities and programming, so this does exactly what I want and expect; however, I did have an issue with the 6160RF keypad. It worked correctly since installation 5 months ago, but stopped making any sound whatsoever. Seller Fire and Safety Plus replaced it quickly under warranty and all is well again. Very pleased with this seller.

My old Brinks alarm gave out during the last power outage from storm. It was not being monitored so although it would work to alert it was also annoying as every few days it would give audible alarms due to not being monitored. I read up and found this Honeywell Vista 20P would run fine without paying to be monitored. So I pulled out the Brinks system but reused sensors (wall, door and motion). The 20P worked perfectly. The only sensor I swapped was the smoke sensor as the old one did not work with this model. Now we don't get the annoying alert every few days of system not monitored, especially early am as it would tend to happen when we were all asleep. This system has already paid for itself since i did not have to pay for installation or monitoring charges.

I recently helped a family member replace a 17 year old Vista 20se alarm panel and keypads with this Vista 20p as its core. Everything was new and well packaged with a box within a larger padded box. The only issue I had was that I was told by the seller that the panel would be a version 10.26 but received a 10.25 version instead. Honeywell/Resideo doesn't publish release notes to determine the differences between versions, but I was hoping to get the latest and greatest to avoid any future issues. In any case, everything worked out fine and I was able to add a second 6160 keypad, a number of wired and wireless sensors and an ADC SEM.

Good price. Very versatile. Most complaints I see are from people who order and have no experience programming Vista. Mine was good for 20 years then I needed to upgrade to a later revision to get cellular. Also upgraded parents so it wasn't bad at all.

This is the standard system you see everywhere. It works great, simple to learn, maintain, and install. Very flexible options for addons and sensors.

Been using Honeywell for almost thirty years. If you're not a professional alarm tech, hire one. The average Joe that thinks he can properly install and program one of these will hate it because you will not have a clue what you're doing and there is no tech support for the home or business owner.

Works just as expected.
