where does the silicon rubber ring go?

The unit is a finely machined thread for the two pieces, the ring is used as a gasket, as the Nespresso produces pressured hot water forcing it through the holes. It's a great unit. Takes time to arrive so you know.

What is the size of the coffee tamper does it come with?

The coffee tamper fits the pod size of the capsule, not sure what the size is. However I have found that this does not work as well as it is advertised. Nothing comes close to the pods that you get from Nespresso.

Does it fit nespresso vertuoplus deluxe coffee and espresso machine by de'longhi env155sae?

It did fit in mine, however it only makes a small amount of coffee like the 1.35 oz size from the machines. There was no froth...at all.. and the machine made some loud noises while it was spinning. I used it twice and sent it back after reading reviews that it ruined peoples machines!
