As enjoyable for parents as it is for kids!
I've been following his work for several years now, way before I actually had a kid. Every time I find an upcoming release listed on Amazon, I preorder it right away. I love his unique style of illustration. Each of his books is beautiful. The stories are original but also offer the reader a familiar sense of wonder. it makes me nostalgic for my own childhood and really excited to share his work with my daughter. He also chooses from a great variety of themes and I like the surprise of what's coming out next. He hasn't let me down yet. This is as great a book as I expect from John Rocco! Well-told and beautifully illustrated, it's a simple story that reminds grown-ups that kids often have more going on the inside than the outside. Also, it could serve as inspiration for anyone who has found themselves in a situation where they feel powerless and kids find themselves in situations like that all the time. It's especially important for kids to see someone regain power after they feel they have lost it. Rocco really provides the reader with that sense of a child's imagination and the intensity of their belief.Every household, library, and classroom in the world should have John Rocco's work. If you aren't familiar with his work, this would be a great place to start. As a parent it is always a good idea to add something to your library that is as enjoyable for you as it is for your kids. Especially if they want to read it often or twice in 20 minutes.I highly recommend this title, as well as his other books.

Laugh out-loud funny!
Super Hair-o and the Barber of Doom is laugh out-loud funny. The main character is a kid named Rocco (hmm, I don't think that's a coincidence) who loves to be a super hero. He and his friends believe that their 'superpowers' come from their rather impressively out of control hair. When they lose their hair they believe they have lost their powers, but have they really? With appealing, funny illustrations and a comic style exaggerated text this book is perfect for sharing with all those super hero crazy kids out there. My super hero crazy nephew loved this book, what more do I need to say. The only problem I had with it was the fact that the child that needed to be helped by Rocco and his friends was a girl with a doll. I found that a bit irritating, I'm not a big fan of girls needing to be rescued all the time. But that is a minor issue, the book is fun with lots of potential of discussion about what makes a real hero.

Its okay
Purchased this book to help my son who was having some anxiety about getting a haircut. The story is a lackluster and doesnt offer much of a story.

Know a kid with big hair?
Fun book- especially for boys! I bought this for my son and then also later for a birthday gift. My son has a lot of hair and had his first hair cut at 9 months old- so this book completely works for him. I bought this book for another kiddo with a huge, curly head of hair. I think my son and this other kiddo completely wish their hair also had super powers!

Wonderful story
My 4-year-old daughter loves this book. She asks to read it over and over and over, and this is one of those books I do not get tired of reading to her. It has a great underlying moral to it allowing us to "dig deep" when discussing the book.

What is the message you are trying to send with this book?
I bought this book for my son with long hair thinking it would be a positive "long haired boy" story. In the end the barber cuts all their hair, they think their power is gone because their power came from their hair to find out that it didnt and they could still be superheros without their hair. All that is really saying is, your hair isnt important and if your are forced to cut it you will be fine. Stupid story and sad message!

Fantastic Book
I have all of John Rocco's book. I teach fifth grade and even though they are picture books my students enjoy them. My students love the stories and most of all the illustrations.
