Hoop was not strong enough to hold material from slipping. Would not recommend for material other than light weight cotton.

I bought this hoop at a sewing event and have never regretted making this investment. I felt compelled to write this review since the only other reviewer to date gave it one star. This hoop has a VERY strong magnet that holds your stabilized fabric in place just fine. In fact, if you are not careful to use the included separator insert when storing it, you'll have a heck of a time trying to pry the top and bottom of the frame apart... Don't ask me how I know. The other reviewer suggested that it only works well with lightweight fabrics. That has not been my experience. I have even used it with canvas and toweling. For heavier or thicker loft fabrics, instead of trying to hoop the fabrics under the frame, I have hooped adhesive stabilizer then stuck the fabric to the stabilizer. It works like a charm. This frame makes hooping a snap... Literally.

This is very good product, does exactly what it's supposed to do. I used mine for towels, quilts, etc. never a problem. I've had it at least 3 years and have used it more times than I can count.
