Great option if you have the infrastructure layout
I initially picked this up, because I already had a long Ethernet cable laid out for a previous device, and could reuse it for my project setup. Also compare to the Cable Matter adapter this was much easier to setup, as you only needed power on one of the adapters and not both. For the picture quality and sound, it felt a bit of a quality was lacking compared to a quality copper HDMI cable, otherwise worked perfectly fine, before looking into other options. If you already have the cable laid out this is a fine solution even though it bit expensive for convenience.

Great at 30 Hz, maybe issues at 60 hz or maybe I'm just out of spec
My use-case for this is to run a TV that's on the other side of the room from my computer; I extend my desktop over there and I can put something on the screen that I can see anywhere in the room. My setup is "questionable"; I am using a pretty long HDMI cable (6 foot ? not sure) to reach the box, and then the box is plugged into an ethernet jack in the wall. There's a run that goes straight from that jack to the jack near the TV, which is at least 20 but probably less than 40 feet of cable. I say it's questionable because that HDMI run in particular is quite long, and I am not sure what the ratings of my ethernet cables are. It can easily do 4k at 30Hz, no problems. For my usecase, this is totally acceptable. At 60Hz, it ... mostly works. It seems like it drops a frame now and then, sometimes the TV blinks and 'reconnects' the HDMI. Over time, it will get worse and worse until I unplug the transmitter box and let it reset. I'm not going to blame the device for this because I'm pretty sure I'm out of spec with something though. I would say your mileage may vary but it works how I needed it to.

Works as expected. The copy writer never saw this product. The size and weight are wrong.
The copy writer never saw this product. The size and weight dimensions are grossly overstated. Actual dimensions are under 4"x3"x3/4", and the weight of each box is under 6 oz. After I bought an appropriate Cat6 cable and three HDMI cables, hookup was simple and actually worked properly. I sent my 4K30 computer monitor to my 4K30 TV so that I could check up on the computer from time-to-time without getting out of my TV chair. I mounted the boxes sideways so vents were on bottom and top to improve airflow. I also put heat sinks on top and bottom of the metal boxes. If the boxes start getting hot, I'll update this review. The only reason this is not 5 star is the screwed up description, and the device has only been running for an hour.

Works perfectly right out of the box
What a fantastic little unit this is. I ran HDMI cables through my walls 10 years ago and one of the connectors got damaged. I spent $40 buying a testing kit and replacement connector that I then spent at least two and a half hours wiring up and screaming at the 20 tiny little wires. After all that I discovered that the cable length would not handle 4K video at 60 hz. I wish I knew about this device before wasting all of that time and effort. This thing is literally plug and play and could not have been easier getting 4K video at 60 hz from my main receiver to another bedroom about 60 ft away. The transmitter and receiver are both all metal, nice and heavy, and have a high quality feel to them. I love the fact that you only need to plug in a power transformer on the transmitter end and the receiver gets its power over ethernet. It's dead simple and works perfectly. I'm not using the infrared repeater function but that would be very handy if you needed to control your equipment using an infrared remote control in a different room. This is the best money I spent all year. Highly recommended.

Did not work, tried two units
I was excited to try this to relatively inexpensive upgrade to improve the 1080 signal from my ~60 foot run between the avr and the tv. I ended up disappointed. My setup is Xfinity 4k box --> Cable matters premium certified HDMI --> Yamaha 4k AVR --> Cable matters premium certified HDMI --> Orei Extender --> Shielded Cat6 cable --> Cable matters premium certified HDMI --> Sony 4k Bravia It only worked intermittently, sometimes cutting out in the middle of a show or movie, other times working well for a couple hours - It would work, and then stop, and then sometime later start working again. Other times it simply wouldn't turn on at all, the system would get powered up and there would be no picture or sound. I tried getting technical help from amazon who said they couldn't help because the Orei technical support was closed, so I tried a replacement unit in case I had a manufacturing error. I had the same problem with the replacement which leads me to believe it simply will not work with the equipment I have. (Which is odd, because I don't think I'm using anything really out of the ordinary.) Perhaps I was doing something incorrectly, but the manual wasn't helpful and support wasn't either.

Saves you money!!
I use this to watch DirecTV in my bedroom from HDMI2 our from my Denon receiver. (Actually I can watch any source from my living room). It works exactly as expected with a beautiful picture and relays my IR signal from the bedroom to control my DirecTV receiver . My only request would be for it to have a 3 way IR splitter so could control the Xbox UHD drive and the AV receiver. Now I don’t have to have a separate DirecTV receiver($7/month) to watch what has been recorded on my DVR. Very easy to use. Seems to be of high build quality but only time will tell. I will update if I get disappointed by bad quality. Update 2/6/22: I cannot get this to work with my TiVo edge no matter what I try. The picture blinks on and off. Also, as others have pointed out, if the unit goes to sleep , it is very hard to get it to wake up again.

Problem solver!
Running a HDMI cable that's 50' comes with risk. Even if it's certified it may not work properly. That's what happened to me. My certified cable running from my Fios set top box to my TV produced a sound but no picture. Fortunately, I ran extra ethernet cable just for this circumstance. The Orei hdmi extender was easy to hook up and solved my issue. This extender does work with CAT 6A cable. Very happy with the product. The only possible negative issue I encountered is the extender runs a little warm. Hope that doesn't affect the longevity of the extender.

Does exactly what it should
I run cables through a void in my ceiling, from an av processor to a 4K projector. With higher bit rate video signals hdmi cables were dropping out, causing handshake issues or not passing full 4k. This product solved the problem. Plus cat 6 called are easier to pull than hdmi.

Would be nice to include EU adaptor
Came with UK power adapter. I could not set resolution higher than 1080p but I am using cat 5 ethernet cable.

Great unit, stable connection.
I used this extender for a short 10-meter run between my computer and a monitor located in different room, and it works very well. The unit claims to support distances up to 165 ft, which is far more than I need or am willing to test. I would have preferred something with a shorter range and possibly a lower price, but all the models that support 4K @ 60Hz seem to start at around 100 ft or more. I chose to go with an extender over a fibre HDMI cable because there are a couple of tight bends along the route, and I didn’t want to risk damaging the glass in a fibre cable. There is a very slight compression artifact at all tested resolutions (1080p and 4K). It’s more noticeable when viewing scenes that require high bitrates, like spreadsheets at a high res, but for general movie watching, I doubt most people would notice it. One downside is that this extender does not support the 2560x1440 resolution. My graphics card is currently capped at 4K @ 30Hz so I would have liked to use 1440p @ 60Hz, but since the extender lacks support, I've had to go all the way down to 1080p. All in all, a great unit, and I appreciate the included IR blaster although I have no use it for it right now.

Prima
