Never did I think that this leg rest would be as helpful as it is for me. I have a degenerative condition known as severe stenosis which is very, very painful in my lower back. I am schedule for surgery in Boston after the holidays. I really didn't know if I could make it until then due to the fact the getting out of bed in the morning is the very worst part of the day for me! I can' hardly stand upright!Since I have been using the leg rest, I have found a marked improvement in the mornings! I one person that can sleep on my backl all night, so this works for me. If I happened to turn over onto my side before I had the rest, I had a terrible time getting out of the side position! So I had to teach myself to sleep on my back all night. The rest takes so much of the pressue off of my lower back! I am still a bit stiff upon waking, but the pain in less, and I am able to stand upright! What a blessing! It is definitley long enough, so that my legs don't fall off the rest while I am sleeping. The foan is quite sturdy and does not get crushed like a pllow would do. (I tried that too.) The leg rest was the answer to my prayers unti surgery. Thank you Amazon for offering such a geat device!

The height may fit or not

First off, I admit I buy most of my products on Amazon.com. I also admit that I very seldom write a review for a product. But this one is an exception to me. I have to say it totally surprised me by being so amazing! I had injured my knee in a fall. The other leg was in pain from over compensating. I lived on pain pills and pain creams. I tried this and... after using it the first night, the next day the pain was totally gone from the leg I had fallen on. The other leg there was some pain, but minor compared to what it had been. I needed no pain pills, and just minimal pain cream on the overcompensating leg (no pain cream at all on the injured one). It's like a miracle. Now I admit that I will have some getting used to sleeping with it- it's quite a bit larger than I anticipated. But the results are well worth it! THANK YOU.

I have a herniated disc in my lower back. Because of this, I cannot lay flat without something under my knees if I'm on my back or between my knees if I'm on my side.I have been using this for a year and 8 months now. The thing that I absolutely LOVE about it is that it is firm enough to withstand the weight of my legs without flattening, but soft enough to not cut off the circulation in my legs. That being said, the cover is kind of rough to the touch and after going through the wash the first time it has pilling on the surface which adds to the roughness.When placed on the bed in the way it is meant to, it is not tall enough to provide me with proper elevation for my knees. To remedy this, I turn it on it's side with the angled part pointing at my feet. Thankfully, this works great and is then tall enough to relieve the strain on my back. I was also surprised that the angled top does not really affect the feel of it when I place it between my knees when I am laying on my side. Also, when laying on my side it is of a length to support my upper leg from knee to foot, which I am once again very thankful for.All in all, this was a great purchase. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with back problems.It would be nice to maybe see a deluxe version of this that has an outer memory foam layer as well as a softer cover that doesn't pill up when washed (it'd be nice to see that on the regular one as well).**EDITAfter writing the above I went back and read through some of the other reviews. I noticed that a lot of people mentioned a chemical smell. I believe that the foam did have a smell to it when I first got it, but it was never bad enough to bother me while I'm sleeping and my wife has never mentioned it. So, don't let the smell stop you from purchasing this.

This product smells so bad I can't use it. I've washed the cover but the foam is the culprit. I've used half a bottle of febreze to no avail. I've left it out in the rain-no help. I called the 800 number on the package and they are aware of the odor and suggest I use a vinegar wash. When I asked the proportions of water to vinegar they couldn't tell me. But they were aware of the odor problem. Some have suggested that because the Chinese recycle all kinds of stuff into making their products the smell will never leave it. I try to buy Made in the USA products and did not notice this was made in China. I have the foam outside on my deck hoping it will eventually get better and will try a 50/50 vinegar water wash this weekend and saturate it. If that doesn't work I will attempt to return it. It's also very hard and uncomfortable but I thought perhaps that would change with use if I could just get it to where I can use it.

We were looking for something to better support us ergonomically while watching TV in bed each evening, so we had already purchased the Duro-Med Elevating Leg Rest with Blue Polyester/Cotton Cover from Amazon. Although it was perfect for my partner, it was a bit "short" for me; I'm 5'11 and all legs, so when I cross my ankles my knees fall apart a bit, pushing them very close to the edges of the shorter model. This looked like the perfect solution: basically the same product, but with extra length. Sold!Well, I received this today and I LOVE IT. The size is exactly what I needed, as my legs are 100% supported on all sides now and there are even a few inches to spare on each side. I also like that this product is a bit more firm than the smaller one since I just prefer a firmer feel. So if you're looking for knee elevation to improve ergonomics/comfort/circulation while lounging, look no further - this is it!
