Speedo Blocked Boyshort, Grey, X-Small

These are really cute. Sizing was as expected and the waistband is flattering. However if you plan to do some serious lap swimming in these, I'd recommend wearing a bikini bottom underneath. The wide waistband drags and pulls down a bit in the water while swimming. I'm really excited to wear these paddleboarding! They are short - more coverage than a typical bikini bottom but less coverage than a boardshort. They are just a bit cheeky.

This is a very cute bottom and it will do fine at the pool and such. You can fold down the top part of the waist band very easily if you want a lower tan line. I'm not sure how it would hold up at the beach though, because of that easily fold-downable top part of the band. It doesn't fit snugly enough for me to be comfortable with wearing it in the waives. If you are just wading around, looks very cute.

I am never sure how boy shorts will look. These are very flattering even with my cyclist/runner thighs. The top has a wide band so it doesn't cut into you and it is very comfortable. The band reminds me of yoga pants. My only concern would be how well they would stay on when diving into a pool or playing in waves. If I was more sure they would stay put I would have given 5 starts. For $18 these are a pretty good deal though.

These are great as dance fitness short-shorts. I love the shaping on the side of the leg cut-outs -- the notched cut is a super cute detail that gives them almost a hint of retro jogging short appeal. Generally speaking, the fit is relatively comfortable -- I do wish these had a paneled crotch, like a pair of good yoga pants. The front seam tends to give one a bit of ye olde camel toe that could have been avoided by a paneled crotch seam. Also, sometimes the hems of the legs fold up in front a bit. But still! These are small complaints, these are super cute, and definitely a name you can trust with the quality construction.As for swimming? Hmm. if you're of bigger booty/smaller waist proportions, these may not work well for you... to get the butt to fit correctly, you'll need to size up... but then I found that with shorts that fit on my booty, the fit was a bit too big around my hips. This meant that when I was diving into the water, the shorts were prone to slipping off! That means these might be ideal for narrow hipped women... but for me and my squatty booty, the waist/hip sizing combined with the styling of the waistband, meant they weren't great for me.

I am impressed with these Speedo boyshorts. I was concerned about the sizing but these fit like a true medium trunk. These fit nicely and offer a slightly longer leg with enough back material to cover the necessities. The hem of these remind me of short-shorts from the early 80s.I ordered these to coordinate with a tankini top that I already own. The color is bright blue but seems to work with the top. The style of the trunks would go well with a variety of tops. These are a cute edition to any swim wardrobe.
