I very much enjoyed putting these together with our 4 year old son. They are adorable little construction vehicles. They were tricky at times and tested my patience a tad but seeing how much he loves them and how much he especially liked to tinker with the parts was worth it. Each small box comes with the tools you need and each had some extra pieces. I think these could also make a great party favor for a birthday party. We got these for our son for Christmas and I want to order another set for Valentines or Easter. We just finished the last one. We didn’t rush them as we wanted the fun to last. And I kept the instructions in case he wants to take them apart we will know how to put them back together. As for the age it recommends I think with the help from a family member they are appropriate for any child over 4.

My son and I did love putting these together, but buyer beware...the actual completed toy isn't close to the size as it is portrayed on this page or in reality - no fault of the seller, they are using a stock image.With that being said, this will definitely help with your child's dexterity as the parts (especially the nuts, bolts, and the spaces you have to try to put them in) are cramped to the point you almost can't situate your fingers to tighten them. The tools provided help somewhat, but these are just too small period.But then there's the directions. I'd like to say I'm not that old that I need a pair of reading glasses with my contacts to be able to see them, but wow. I had to get a magnifying glass out to be able to see how to fit these things together.But, once together...although tiny...they are fully functioning products that my kid played with for hours, and is still playing with.

These are great for instilling some basic mechanical intuition in small children.

I purchased the IRON COMMANDER mini erector set for my son. He is at the age where legos are “to simple”, so I decided to expand his imagination and help build his mechanical skills.I will be giving him this set as a birthday gift at the end of this month. I know he will be eager to start building the different machines.I will write an update after he opens it and assembled some of them. But I already know he will love it.

I bought this as a gift for my 14 year old grandson. He really enjoyed putting the machines together. Everything was well made and sturdy. It kept him busy for many hours.

I purchased this for my son. He loves building these types of things. They were metal and solid. However the description of how to put them together was nearly impossible. He was unable to put them together past a certain point and my husband and I both had an extremely difficult time. The places you were supposed to be able to put a bolt and then tighten it was impossible. I had to take it all apart and put it together in a different order than the instructions said or I couldn’t get the tools in to tighten the nuts and bolts.

Great little set so many come in the box. The kids enjoyed them. This set is great for middle schoolers high schoolers and elementary students that are great with their hands and engineering.
