It has a plug in that is only good in the UK no adapter we have one we bought a khols and wanted one to keep at are camper, I had such a problem even getting this in the first place had to reorder but Im going to send it back and get one with a regular plug. the sharpener we have works great but we dont have that kind of plugs. so it is useless to us

I liked this model and it's perfect for my personal needs, plus I showed my wife how to use it properly. I am a Disabled combat Vietnam Veteran: 68-70, and an edged weapons expert, so I know what works and what don't. Just wondering what the next larger, more powerful size is, and how much $$$ ? The best sharpener i have ever owned, and i have tried every one over the years as a professional chef. This one takes off less metal than any other electric model. It also wont detemper your expensive chef knives. Lasts for years with daily use.finally ready for a replacement sharpening unit so decided to leave review now. Does a much better job than the 2100.

I have finally ordered a replacement sharpening cartridge for my Chef's Choice 2000 model, after nearly ten years of good service. I have used this in a commercial kitchen, before my retirement, and for keeping my home knives sharpened. Amazon was not even on the horizon when I purchased my unit, and I do not remember where I bought it, but the sharpener has served me well over the years. This unit may not have the flexible strop of the newer unit, and may not produce the true razor sharp edge of it's younger brother, but this is a great unit. Finally wore out the sharpeners enough that they are not producing the edge they used to, but they have lasted over ten years. I figure this unit has saved me several thousand dollars, plus quite a few knives, and of course time lost driving back and forth to somebody to sharpen my knives, and generally get them back a week later.Great investment! Probably give this to the grand kids when I can no longer cook!fctrvlrHenderson, NV
