Fantastic taste!
I had no intentions of using the cake pans that came with the cake. I made cupcakes and it made 24 cupcakes. Dont listen to the reviewers giving low ratings due to the cake pans, yes the price is a little high but the flavor is amazing!!! I added a some pudding mix in the cake as I do with all cake mixes and the texture was fantastic. Because I made cupcakes, I made my own icing and mixed it with the icing included and they were probably the best cupcakes I've ever made. I recommend buying this cake mix. Keep in mind, you can always make cupcakes!

Delicious. Better than Goldbelly.
This tastes like a restaurant cake. The only thing I did differently was add two ripe bananas to the frosting which made it thicker and more luxurious, like the consistency of banana marshmallow. This is up to par with anything you'll find on Goldbelly for 100 bucks or more. This mix is phenomenal.

Delicious but pricey
15$ is a lot for a cake mix especially when you have to add your own butter, eggs, oil and cream cheese. I didn't care for the very small 7" cake pans so I used my own 8" ones which were adequate for the cake and the more than enough icing mix, after adding 8 Oz. each of butter and creamed cheese. This was a B.D cake for a friend whose favorite is Banana Nut, so I added crushed Walnuts to the batter and sliced bananas and bigger walnuts to middle layer with the same on top layer. My friend adored her delicious cake which is the best review of all!Now I want to try the Key Lime

Disappointed
I would rather have more cake mix than a small pan! Cake tasted good just extremely small. That’s why they provide a pan.

Tasty but Small!
I followed the instructions to the letter! That isn't "normal" for me. The 4 ft by 4 ft kitchen was hot & humid in spite of our AC working hard. Our gas oven finally got as near to the required 350 degrees Fahrenheit as possible. We have 3 oven thermometers to help as temps can go from too hot to very low when you turn your back. Now to the cake mix--Upon mixing it and seeing the resulting small amount that needed to be divided between the two enclosed cake pans I became concerned that there wouldn't be sufficient for even one layer. I was wrong! The cake layers rose nicely within the specified time. While they were baking I mixed the frosting mix with cream cheese & unsalted butter. This last was for me as my daily salt intake must be carefully monitored. Again I was fearful that there would not be enough frosting to cover the two layers allowing me to decorate once spread. As you can see in the third photo my fears were ungrounded again. I could have left some off the top but instead used it all making the top of the cake quite thick with frosting. In the heat & humidity the frosting could have dripped down the side of the cake resulting in a pool of frosting surrounding it. The cake layers baked evenly and completely through without drying out. Several hours later the frosting is still spreadable but not dripping as I feared it might. If I make this recipe again I will add carmelized banana slices to the top. As it is I used Carmel drops for decoration and color contrast. The frosting is rich but not too sweet. It whips nicely. This cake can easily be divided into eight servings as is suggested. The only other addition to the recipe since I am Southern is that of chopped pecans both inside the cake and sprinkled on the frosting. Those will need to wait for the next time since I have a request to make oatmeal cookies next.
