I believe it can. I use it on a Honda 4-stroke.

is this for wheel bearing on boat trailers?

I use it for grease fittings on and around the outboard, For the prop shaft putting prop on and around the lower seal to protect it. also on steering linkage and for the trailer wheel bearings (use a bearing buddy for greasing boat trailer wheel bearings).

Can i use this in an automobile or atv application for tie rods? wheel bearings? thanks!

I don't see why not. I use it in everything, no failures yet.
