3/16" Heat Shrink Tubing, 50 pcs, 4" Long, High Voltage & Temperature Rating

I'm a professional automotive/marine mechanic with over 45 years of experience. I use heatshrink all the time, however the best I've found is the type with a glue inside the heatshrink tubing. As you hear it and the tube begins to shrink the glue inside melts and seals the connection very well. This is a must in a marine, wet or any wiring in a computer system, automotive or marine. I purchased this tubing a few months ago and have used it quite a bit and it seals connections well. I have taken a couple pieces of scrap wire and soldered them together and then sealed them with this heatshrink tubing then let them sit in a harsh environment for a month. I would then cut the connection near each end and in the middle. The result was a well sealed connection at all three cuts, with a good amount of sealant glue at all three cuts.So this heatshrink tubing that I received is of a good quality. A lot of the heatshrink tubing in the marketplace does not have the glue in it which leaves you with a well covered connection BUT NOT a sealed connection which water can get into. Lastly some of the heatshrink tubing in the marketplace has some glue in it but very little which leaves you with connection that may be sealed but in many cases it's not sealed well.I don't write a whole lot of reviews so when I do it's a bad product or a very good product. I also don't write a review until I have used the products and thoroughly tested them. The whole point of a review is to educate people about a product so they can make a proper decision about the products they purchase. I hope this helps somebody. Great for tight quarter wire repairs. Will be buying a larger quantity next time.

Longer than needed so you can cut them to size.

As an electrician, I use these heat shrink tubing pieces to insulate individual wires inside a junction box. This is needed in older homes with metal junction boxes and BX wiring where the plastic insulating jacket has become brittle on the individual conductors. This size fits perfectly over 14 gauge copper wire, with or without the brittle insulating jacket.

I was impressed with the product. When you apply a source of heat to the tubing it shrinks. That's pretty amazing stuff right there. Who knew the 21st century would be so cool!
