Every high schooler like myself knows that pencils are essential everyday (especially for those "pop" essay write ups in English). And when you're writing, you ultimately just want one that works. Sure, you'll want one that feels nice, looks cool, has a cool grip, colors that make your eyes pop, but eventually someone who's sad enough to take it does so. Oh, and let's not even start to talk about those terrible mechanicals that look and work great, but whose erasers cause a word to be smeared rather than actually erased. This pencil covers everything in a teenager's mind:1) IT WORKS.2) Lead doesn't break thanks to the spring action thingy. No more broken lead (it just makes your life that much harder in the moment)3) Eraser ACTUALLY ERASES COMPLETELY!!4) It won't break when you drop it, practically indestructible for a mechanical pencilI would list more, but I would probably bore everyone. So long story short, this pencil is amazing cause it's cheap, durable, and just flat out works. Which is what every high schooler who is writing those in-class essays or solving a math problem wants. Actually, it's what everyone wants. Simple.

Breakability:I press too hard and break "regular" mechanical pencils, but I want the point of a mechanical pencil. I have yet to break the lead on these pencils. I love the way the lead is dispensed also. My mother used these for years and I think of her every time I use one of these.

This is my favorite cheap pencil. The product page description is sparse - I've just received my order, so with package in hand, here are the details.This pencil comes in a box of 12, with a lead diameter of 0.7 mm. Although it's non-refillable, the lead lasts a long time. It has a twist tip lead advance, and a cushion point which adjusts to writing pressure. The red eraser makes a smeary mess; I replace it with the white type of eraser.Why go to the trouble for such a cheap pencil? This slim, light pencil is very comfortable to use, I like the twist-tip feed, and the cushion point REALLY WORKS. I never break the lead in this work-horse.

They don't break easily, very good quality.

Pretty but Impractical. My nine year old really loved these pencils at first. However, when she realized that they cannot be refilled she practically cried. In addition, the lead in a pencil does not last an entire school day. After the lead is finsihed it is basically garbage which is bascially a totally waste of money and a huge dissapointment for my child.
