What a beautiful set of flatware -- and quite affordable for the quality! Love the graceful minimalist design of these utensils, as well as the high quality of the steel; they are weighty in the best possible way, well-balanced in the hand, sturdy and durable. The only drawback of the set is the size of the teaspoon: it has a noticeably smaller bowl and a noticeably shorter stem than most standard teaspoons, making it a bit difficult to get used to when one is eating with it. Since the set is generally so high-quality, I am not deducting a star for that -- though I would hope that if the Fortessa Grand City line is ever redesigned, it would include more standard-sized teaspoons. Otherwise, this is about as close to perfection as flatware gets.

These are excellent quality, sturdy silverware. Please be careful if you are adding to an existing set of these, however. I was sent four boxes of the 2018 version. Everything else is the same, but my 2021 sets have a larger teaspoon than the ones that come in this set.

Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe reputedly used the expression, "less is more." If that minimalist style of beauty appeals to you, you are in for a treat. That is exactly the description that fits the Fortressa Grand City design. The handles are utterly without ornamentation and perfectly smooth. They look like just poured liquid metal. Although flatware, the handles are slightly rounded which feels as good in your hand as it looks to your eye. Each piece has a nice balance and heft to it. The forks are delicately narrow; the knife well-balanced and the spoons perfectly shaped. I am thrilled with my purchase.

These are very high quality pieces. The design is very basic and minimalist which is what I wanted but is not for everyone. They are stainless steel construction so they do not stain or tarnish. They are still as good as new even after using the dishwasher many times. If your looking for high quality without the need for silver polish, I have found these to be a nice alternative to silver. They do need to be wiped down for fingerprints but this is quick and easy.

I love the weight and balance of these utensils but they keep sending a espresso size spoon instead of the teaspoon.
