Another winner.
My church group has "adult Pinewood Derby" every June for men that want to make something a little prettier and faster than they did as Cub Scouts.I always use these wheels and do my own axles. I find Pinewood Pro's wheels to be better done than my own lightened and turned wheels, but my canted and polished axles tend to be faster than any aftermarket jobs I've seen.If you are tuning a rail rider for consistent performance, these wheels are a pretty good addition. Your axles and steering and weight distribution and hitting full max weight are all more important than your wheels, but if you've done all of that stuff right, these wheels can make the difference. You still have to pump your holes full of graphite powder before the race for top performance.Nice job, Pinewood Pro.

Pricey, but may pay off
Rather pricey for a project that we generally spend $6 on. I suppose if you bought these when your kid was a Tiger and reused them every year until they crossed over into a Troop, the price would be justifiable. That said, a couple weeks ago, my AOL used these for the first time and won First Place in his final Pinewood Derby. He worked hard and did a lot of research on the design, so he was thrilled with the outcome. In fairness, he’s placed other times without the fancy wheels, so it’s hard to say if the wheels put him over the top or if the design was better this year. Either way, it was a great way to end his Cub Scout career.

These Wheels did the job
I was skeptical to pay as much for Pinewood Derby wheels but because I needed the time I saved to make such wheels to invest in other things on the car these wheels were a life saver and my son won not only 1st place in his Den for his Pack race but also ended up winning 1st place in his District and is going to State Champions next.

Won 1st place in den and pack
Also used Pinewood Derby Axles - BSA Grooved & Graphite Coated. Ordered Pre Bent 1.5 Degree Pinewood Derby Steering Axle as well but did not use as testing revealed it was slower, I suspect due to poor transition between sections of track. Use lots of graphite and get as close to 5 oz. as possible. They le us remove weight at check-in in our event.

Pretty expensive and no noticeable improvement
For the past 3 years I've notched, filed, and sanded my own axles and wheels. This year I figured I'd try these which were supposedly the cream of the crop and ready to go. Car design was very similar, weight distribution, total weight, axle placement, etc. No other variables changed other than paint and the car was simply slower this year using these wheels and the axles sold by same company. Our car placed in the top 3 the past 3 years out of about 60+ cars (3rd, 1st, 2nd). This year, 29 out of 63. Next year I'm going to save the money and do my own wheels again. I suppose that's what I get for trying to save time and effort. Not worth the cost IMO unless you are just using them to replace the stock wheels without any additional tuning.

These wheels are good they helped my son win in his cub scout race and I liked that they already came with the graphite on them

Awesome
Arrived on time & exactly as described. I was very pleased with the purchase. The quality of the tires helped contribute to my sons win. His car absolutely roasted every other car by at least a full car length .
