Not a bad pair of shears.
Got them in and immediately took them out to get the 'feel' for them. They feel and appear to be of quite sturdy manufacture for the amount I paid for them. I expected something flimsy and cheap, however these are kinda hefty. The small round area to help prevent cuts from sliding the scissors under a bandage or clothing is a tad bit rough to the touch on the edges however that can easily be rectified. It does have the temp rating on it if you want to place it in an autoclave. The pivot/bolt seems to be of decent enough construction as well. These were tight and didn't flail open like some of the lesser ones will. For what I paid for them, these are good to have just knocking around the house first aid kit if need be. I would also think these would be a decent go if you had the bad habit of losing or misplacing your shears during shift (not necessarily a good habit to have.....but eh) or to have as a back up pair on the bus.For those preppers out there (you know who you are :) ) these are good to have handy if you are building a prep bag, or go bag and don't want or need to spend a whole lot of $ for something to have handy.

these things cut through natural fibers like hemp, cotton and whatnot like butter
Decent shears for their price, but you should expect some a bit low quality. Plastic was rough and "fraying" in a few places, and there was a bit of a burr on one of the rounded edges of the shear blades themselves. If you're using them for what I'm using them for (primarily rope), these things cut through natural fibers like hemp, cotton and whatnot like butter, but will struggle a bit more with materials with synthetic cores (such as poly and nylon). As such, I'd expect them to struggle even more with fully synthetic rope. Just be prepared to use a bit more force than initially expected (they do eventually cut through).

Basic, decent quality trauma shears appear to be stainless and made in Pakistan
Initial impressions: Basic, decent quality trauma shears. Appear to be stainless steel. My pair was made in Pakistan as I recall. Sharp enough to cut what you need it to. Longer handles provide more leverage. Cutting edges are slightly curved from front to back. Not sure if this is by design or not. I see a pro to this (ensures smooth cut along length of cutting edge) and a con (will wear down the blades faster). Riveted instead of screwed together.Overall satisfied with the price for the quality and will most likely order a few more pairs.

Replacements for diving shears
I bought these as a replacement for "Sea Snips" - shears for scuba divers. The diving shears is EMT shears in a cordura sheath. They are stainless but repeated exposure to salt water will rust them out, especially attacking the pin holding them together. The sheath will last forever of course and replacing the shears is a fraction of the cost of buying a new set of shears and sheath.

Perfect, especially if your patient's clothing is made of 1.5mm thick copper.
The fact that the handle didn't shatter and the blades didn't disjoint during my penny cutting test right out of the box means that these are probably high enough quality to last until well after I'll lose them. Add that to the price point which is lower than anything else you'll find remotely worth buying anywhere else, and these are an unbeatable buy. Forget your stupid LeatherDaddy©™ Velociraptor² Collapsible Multi-Tool with printed on ruler and entrenching tool attachment or whatever. That's real neat and all, but you're not using 98% of that $70 purchase - buy 20 of these instead. Or maybe 5 or 6 of these, and 1,440 candy cigarettes. http://www.amazon.com/Candy-Cigarettes-24-Count-Boxes/dp/B003X3DMLK/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1433379425&sr=1-1

Okay scissors. Metal a little thin and flexes.
These shears cut okay, but the metal is a little flimsy, and flexes if I cut anything heavy, like cardboard boxes. For the price, it is a good product. While I don't expect it to last long, I think it would perform adequately for home use.

Doesn't cut well
After trying to use these for a few years, I've come to conclusion that these were a mistake to buy. Fortunately, I didn't pay much for them. I wanted scissors for cutting through blister packs. After reading the reviews, I thought these would be it. However, they are too loose to keep cut well, and they have a grittiness to them when you cut. You can try pounding on the rivet to tighten them. But ultimately, they are too bulky to cut in the corners of the pack. They are just the cheapest scissors you can design. There are better scissors to deal with blister packs that I later found out but are more expensive. In the end, you just get what you pay for. I have not found any use for these at all and they are just taking up space in the junk bin.

I now have -3
For the price I did good. Did use one on leather and cut great. I have two medical bags as a retired Fireman and I know they will do the job if needed. One is in my man cave :) for cutting as needed. Very fast delivery, I like that !
