Microsoft LifeCam HD-5000 720p HD Webcam

So far so good. Have had this webcam for about 2 months now. No issues what so ever, and was "self installed" by Windows. So much easier than my Logitech webcam that would never recognize. Fast and easy install, with great picture.

Have used it once and it worked very well hope it continues to work well very easy to use, good by.

This was a waste of my money. The focusing kept going in and out of focus over and over! Very irritating till I got rid of it and went back to my own cam.

I like the cam, but the mount doesn't work well. Even a light tap on my laptop causes the cam to shake. It is very difficult to get it pointed in the right direction.

the cam works, keeps wanting to self focus, the ,mic, lol, what mic, it obviously doesn't work and the stand is weird to say the least

Setting up was as easy as plugging it in to a USB 2.0 port and sitting it on top of a monitor. The rubber coated stand is extremely flexible but strong enough to stay in position when set. Mine sits on top of a DELL flat screen monitor but can just as easily stand on a desk or CRT monitor without any problems.With Windows 8 it plugs in and works with the photos (try out the video effects for some quick laughs) and Skype app instantly, the video recording quality is superb for a webcam. I don't use the audio so I can't comment on that, instead I use Turtle Beach headset with microphone for all audio recording purposes.

It costs a little bit more than the cheap / basic models but the noise canceling microphone makes it WELL worth the price difference. The ones that have regular microphones instead of noise canceling ones are basically a cheap scam; their microphones are worthless. Get this one or at least one comparable to it.

This camera is very easy to install; just plug it in your computer and it does the rest. It even installs its own software for you, and updates it. When you use it with Skype you MAY have to tell Skype to switch from your computer's onboard microphone to the LifeCam microphone, but that's as hard as it gets. Very good camera. If you ever have trouble with the autofocus, there's a way to turn it off: Select the Settings cog on the right, scroll down and click "Properties" under True Color, and then click the Camera Control tab, and next to Focus you can uncheck the "Auto" box.
