Beans in general have been part of my diet as far back as I can remember. I was born in Havana, Cuba lived in Venezuela and Spain before making the US my home now for more than half my life,that said in all these yrs and all the different foods I've tasted I just bought this product for the first time a few days ago and can't believe I've never even heard of it before,not this particular one with these ingredients. I read reviews , and even though wasn't 100% sure I would like it decided to buy the 12 can deal and am very happy I did! I knew the beans were going to taste great as soon as they started to heat up and my kitchen filled up with the wonderful familiar aroma of Cumin, and other spices the only difference is that they ard a little sweeter than the traditional Cuban/ Puerto Rican style black beans . As far as heat level I don't mind heat but don't like my food to be overly hot spicy,I read a couple of comments saying they were too spicy , I didn't find these spicy/hot🔥 at all. I really love this brand of black beans and the price was right to stock up. I keep these in my pantry at all times. They are great for soups, casseroles or a dip.

I like these but they taste very sweet to me, even though the label says 2 grams of sugar. They are not hot at all, and I would have been challenged to find a jalapeno pepper in any of the 7 cans I have used so far of the 12-can set I purchased. Might buy them again, but might also look for beans that work better for me. I am used to soaking and cooking black beans from scratch, so may have to go back to doing that to get beans I really like.I make black bean soup with the recipe from the Silver Palate cookbook. It is amazing when done right. Do include all of the mile-long list of ingredients, and be advised it takes two days to prepare.

The pepper flavor is just right. Not very hot but you can always add your own sauce. We us them in burritos all the time. Good value!

I used to eat a can of beans daily, but it has taken me a year to finish 24 cans of this product as I don't look forward to it as much as plain black beans. If you like spicy foods, you'll probably like this, but I had to dilute it with other things (sour cream, cottage cheese, other beans, etc).

Love everything about these. Warning though, they are very spicy/hot. But I love hot so I ordered another box to have on hand.

Terrific mix of beans and spice. We use them in chili and when making bean and cheese enchiladas! Ole’!
