Ryobi 40V 4.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery OP4040

This battery is heavy, and it is large. That said, when mounted to my Ryobi "Whisper" blower, it is amazing how much power it has. When using this battery the blower is so strong that it is a breeze (no pun intended) to clear out the yard. A full charge is sufficient for our front yard and back yard with enough power left over to do it again the next time, which is saying something because after a day or two of strong winds there are leaves and pine needles everywhere. Is it too big? No. Is it too heavy? No. Would I purchase this battery again . . . I already have. When charging, the battery lets you know when it is fully charged. Worth every penny!

Long-lasting and powerful! This battery holds a charge very well and works perfectly with my Ryobi tools. Charges fast and gives me hours of use. A solid upgrade for any Ryobi user.

Works great. At the time this was purchased it was a better price and we could get at the local hardware store. Unfortunately tried some knock offs that are rated at more amp hours that are junk.

This 4Ah battery is pretty expensive, equal to their previous 5Ah battery. And there's 6Ah batteries for the same price as this 4Ah one that last a little longer. (I got it for $135)And this thing seems overly-sensitive to the temperature. It will not let you charge until it is fully, fully, at room temperature. Which usually takes about 5 hours after mowing. While the 6Ah knockoff battery is ready to charge after only an hour or two of cooldown.I realize it's to lengthen the life of the battery, but I honestly didn't realize this was 4Ah instead of the original 5Ah it came with, so I feel kind of unhappy about the downsizing while keeping the price the same, and slowing down how frequently it can be recharged. Just feels like a step backward. If this 4Ah battery were like $90 then it would be worth it.However I'm sure the stringent temperature controls will make the Li-ion battery last longer, so I get it.It's just kind of finicky, and honestly I'll be buying the 6Ah knockoffs from now on, which cost less and after a year still last about as long as this brand new 4Ah battery.Overall very happy with the Ryobi brand, but this specific battery isn't their best product.

It works fine but when I press the button to see how much charge is left the dots do not light up like the original did.

Delivered quickly and great follow up to make sure I was satisfied which I was. With so many battery fires in homes I can have the piece of mind knowing this is a reputable true Ryobi battery that won’t burn my house down like cheap Chinese knockoffs that look like a Ryobi on the outside but may be dangerous. Worth a little more money.

The battery fits the device I purchased if for, but the battery life is quite short. I appears to charge quickly, but has no longevity. I think this is a Ryobi knock off, as my Ryobi products purchased at Home Depot (for a lot more) last twice as long when charged. The battery appears as pictured.
