YakGear 01-0096 Standncast Outriggers (Gen II)

I got these to put on my son’s kayak so I didn’t have to worry about him tipping. They have worked perfectly. They were super easy to install and are very durable. They fit his kayak perfectly and best of all I can still fit the kayak in the back of the truck and on the kayak rack at home. It’s easy to adjust them and they are a great value for the money! If you are looking for ease of installation, stability and durability, these are the way to go.

Works as intended and stabilizes my Coleman canoe. Had to make brackets to mount but I expected that. On first test I had my wife ,me fishing gear battery and trolling motor in canoe and stood up and rocked the canoe and can tell it helps a ton would recommend. I like that they snap in and have a locking lever to take on and off for transport.

Got these for my Reel Yaks modular 10 foot fin drive kayak. Living on a river that empties into the Pacific Ocean is a challenging experience. These outriggers are built pretty well, powder coated aluminum, even inside the tubes should give years of service. The only downside is that they don’t quite line up well with the water. The locking teeth have numerous positions for height adjustment. Be sure to set them where they are barely touching the water before climbing in. Doing this on the water isn’t really easy when mounted behind the seat. They give you a better stability when leaning to your sides, & standing up. Just remember to keep your knees bent, & not stiff. The mounting grommets that receive the screws for the mounting bracket are rubber with a brass screw that compresses to seal the holes you drill into your kayak. After assembly be sure to not over tighten the screws. Even making them snug the bracket has movement. I wish they were more sturdy. I feel like over time the rubber will wear out, & require replacing them. They are good, just not great-

Made my ascend 10t so stable I can walk to the front. Put them in the front for when you stand it'll have better stability and the connection to the floor to the walls is more stronger. Mounted with the included wellnuts, sometimes they pull out a little but just re tighten

My weight 305 pounds plus the weight of fishing gear, so I am about the weight limit capacity of my kayak which is 325 pounds; so my kayak felt very unstable and one time I tipped over in a springs. Most of the time I go fishing to lakes full of alligators near Tallahassee, so I decided to try to improve the safety of my kaya installing the stabilizers, after a couple of days of research, I decided to buy the Yak gear ones, installed them in 30 minutes, and went fishing the next day. Wow, what a change, my kayak feels now very stable and secure and I do not feel any difference in dragging. I recommend this product 100%, very good quality and very easy to install, and very important also, 100 percent American made.

So I’ve had two problems, the hardware to mount the outriggers on the kayak are a very poor design and cannot be tightened down and could very easily be pulled out of the kayak deck, I ended up having to drill my own holes through the base and put nuts and bolts through it. And the second problem, the float came off the arm my first time trying them out and the plastic nut and washer got lost in the water, I ended up having to go to the hardware store and replace all the connectors with metal washers and nuts I added a lock washer where hopefully this doesn’t happen again in the future. After I got all the kinks worked out I think I’m pretty happy with the end result

This is my second summer with these on my Wilderness Systems Tempest 165 and they're excellent. Take the time to properly install and you'll have zero issues!

No me gusto la forma de fijarse al casco del Kayak; esa fijación debería de hacerse con tornillos y con tuercas. El sistema de fijación y que viene es muy débil

Because the pontoon raise up and move out of the water. They are not the strap down ones with a command bar. You will see me purchase other products off this seller.. The product is great and works amazing (other then missing some screws), but YakGear Customer service is not great at all. When purchasing the product I paid for shipping, then the when the freight arrived I was charged for another shipping cost. No mention on the anywhere that there maybe additional shipping costs. The shipping company would not give me the product unless I paid the extra costs. YakGear did not answer any of my messages sent. I have called there number and left many messages and no call back. I had to get ahold of Amazon, their customer service was great and got me my product. Amazon Customer service could not even get a hold of Yakgear as well no how matter how many phone calls, emails and messages where sent no reply back at all.
