AKC Dog Training Pads, XL 28" x 30", Fresh Scent, 50 Count

I’ve been buying these for years for a small dog and have always been well satisfied. They do what they are supposed to very well. A good buy from the AKC.

After reading other reviewers' posts, I can understand why some say these pads are not worth the money, yet others swear by them! Let me first say my experience is rather... extensive lol For years, I've been an animal foster parent with a local animal rescue. It's not uncommon for me to house 2-3 dogs/puppies, 3-4 cats/kittens, and a rabbit or 2 (eh, why not?). Plus, I have my own resident 6 yo beagle mix who puts up with my mayhem. It's typical for my home to house a new foster pet every 1-2 weeks! With that said, I've used these pads with a variety of dogs of different sizes, breeds, and ages. Perhaps I can shed some light on the effectiveness of these pee pads! From my experience, these pads DON'T leak from puppies and dogs under 10 lbs. Once your furry friend uses his indoor commode, remove the soiled pad and replace. Whenever I left the soiled pad sitting for too long or allowed a foster to reuse the same pad, the urine and feces will leak. Yet, other pads are so very costly --even the ones from a big retail grocery store and especially from a pet retailer like PetSmart or Petco! Those pads also leak when left on the floor while soiled or allowed to be re-used by dogs and puppies 10 lbs. and under. For dogs and puppies over 10 lbs., you'll be hard pressed to find any training pad that won't have some leakage. So what's a good pet owner to do when they can't promptly remove a soiled pad or who are fortunate to raise a large breed puppy or house a not yet housebroken adult rescue dog? In these situations, you can save money by only allowing the potty area to be on tiled or laminate flooring. Or, you can invest in a hard, plastic pee pad container in which you place the disposable pee pad on top of. Just to throw out a few other tips for housebreaking clean-up... do you have a fun-loving, rambunctious puppy who just loves to tumble right into the pee pad area, toss those training pads around, and then pee RIGHT NEXT to the pee pad (if only it hadn't been tossed around)?! A nice trick is to pickup a thin roll of masking tape and tape off the corners of the pee pad so they stay put! This works on carpet as well; however, you might want to line your carpet with either a hard, plastic training pad or trash bags in order to save your carpet. Regardless of which route you go for your training pad purchase, DON'T use newpapers! Some people try to cut costs by using old newspapers, and if you're in a bind until the morning, these will do in a pinch. However, newspapers definitely and readily leak through. Plus, that nice newspaper ink just runs through to your flooring. It's worth it to buy training pads! As a pet foster volunteer, these are my go-to for training pads. If you want an affordable training pad with a decent quality, these work great! Enjoy and happy housebreaking!

Ive been buying these pads religiously, every month for 2 and a half years. And before I used to say this was the best in the market is would have given it 6 stars if it could. Absolutely no other pads had compared to these. They were absorbing and keep most the smells at bay. But recently the passed id say 5 or 6 months ive seen a big change of quality. Now pee slightly leaks through and its just not absorbing like it uses too. And this saddnes me because this was my favorite brand and pad. Im not sure if they changed the quality to save money. But if they kept the quality high I dont think people would have minded if they raised the price by a dollar or two. I was a huge fan but im disappointed now. Please fix the quality we love the product the way it was.

These are perfect and crazy enough, m cat uses them instead of a litter box!

I have ordered these pads many times over the past couple of years (got a subscription finally!), so I wanted to write a review to sing the praises. These pads are PERFECT at doing their job. I'm amazed at how absorbant they are. I have a 20# dog that is pee pad trained if needed (we live in FL where some days it rains constantly and she refuses to go out in it), But even when she lets it all go, it STILL says confined to the pad. The seal on the edges is on POINT. Another great use is if you have any pet that likes to mark the walls or pee outside of the litterbox, you can attach these to the pet's "preferred" wall with adhesive magnets made just for that purpose - instant absorption. One of the best features is that these pads are also great at keeping odor trapped as well. For further reference, I'm a career veterinary nurse and these pads are comparable if not better than the pads used in veterinary offices! So you know if I'm taking the time to sing the praises of a pee pad, they must be good :). Note: open the bag from the bottom because they pack them upside down. Hope this helps!

Leaks through barrier. I have been using these pads a very long time and when I first started using them they did not seem to leak but for the past several orders they are always wet underneath. I have a Chihuahua and although she can pee quite a bit it is not enough that it should leak through. They will be very wet on the bottom. I love the size but I'm disappointed and will be looking for another option.

I have no gripes regarding these training pads. The most important thing to me was no leaks, but my rescue dog is only 10 lbs. They are a good quality and reasonably priced. I did not detect any scent, but maybe my dog did. I definitely recommend them.

Tengo perras grandes y realmente absorben, son una maravilla, se secan y vuelven a absorber. El tamaño XL es perfecto, sostiene dos “pipís” de perro de 20kg de peso

A good size and reasonable value the one I usually buy have had a £5 plus price hike these are cheaper for the moment!! and do the job will be ordering again. Recommended.

Klasse Trainingspads, die Größe ist super und sie sind dicht. Leider sind die Pads oft nicht verfügbar. Aber meiner Meinung nach das beste Produkt auf dem Markt.....

Super absorbing hand for our little dog

Me ha gustado mucho, por su absorbencia, me gustaría q fueran más gruesos, pero hasta hoy me han servido muy bien. Al inicio estaban a un menor precio pero no me anime a pedir subsecuentemente hasta probarlos...ahora me arrepiento porque están más caros
