“Ocean’s Eleven” meets “The Punisher” on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The house always wins—unless Bob Burke is at the table. When Sergeant First Class Vinnie Pastorini plunges five stories from a casino balcony owned by the Gambinos and Luccheses, the mob calls it suicide. Bob Burke calls it murder. Vinnie survived six tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He didn’t come home to die on an Atlantic City sidewalk. Now Burke wants answers—and someone is going to pay. Atlantic City belongs to the mob. They control the casinos, the cops, the judges, and the politicians. The system is sealed tight and drowning in money. But they’ve never faced a former Delta Force commander who treats a million-dollar casino operation like a training exercise. Burke brings in his Operators—Ace Randall, his battle-hardened lead NCO; Chester, who handles explosives and safes with equal precision; and the Geeks, elite hackers who can turn a casino’s surveillance grid into their personal weapon. Quietly backing the play are a two-star general who misses the action and a Chicago homicide detective with flexible ethics. And Linda, Burke’s new bride, is discovering that “for better or worse” now includes Barrett .50 calibers and C4. The mob hides behind money, lawyers, and political protection. Burke doesn’t play by civilian rules. Bank accounts will vanish. Yachts will explode. Casino cameras will capture exactly what Burke wants them to see. They think they control the boardwalk. But Burke is about to change the odds. Book 2 in the explosive Bob Burke action-thriller series. Perfect for fans of Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, and Lee Child. Review: Good stuff!!! - Kept interest from page one. Definitely going to finish the series now. Characters were so good-always keeping me interested. Great job Mr Brown. Review: Great action and story line - I really like the people and the plots in this series. The characters are believable and even the bad guys are well done. There is a lot of action and suspense waiting for the next thing to go wrong. I don't care for some of the language, but can get past it since the story and characters make up for it.

Review of Burke s Gamble
This is the 2and Book in The Burke Series and it is a combination of Rambo versus Casino and GoodFellas. Burke is now married to Linda and he is running the company of his Ex-Wife s father. One of Burke s former soldier s ( Vinny) has gotten in way over his head at a casino in Atlantic City. Vinnie needs 300 Thousands dollar in 24 hours , his girlfriend Patty who Vinnie met last year and who is close with Linda goes with Burke to bail Vinny out. Unfortunately things go off the Rails and Burke finds himself squaring off with Mafia again. What makes this more dangerous is that the casino is owned and operated by the three oldest Mafia families in New York. Burke enlists his old soldiers from his platoon along with his former Commanding Officer. The author understands the inner workings of the Mafia and the Casino business. The Mafia is an old Conservative Operation and unfortunately the man running the Casino is a modern day well educated man with exotic Sexual Preference s. The author understands the corruption that occurs in war zones like Iraq and how that corruption is more dangerous than the war it's self. The ending was awesome and I look forward to the next book in The series.

REVISED: ‘The dynamic Delta Force major had morphed into what was occasionally mistaken for the “telephone guy"
Florida author William F. Brown has penned nine suspense novels and four award-winning screenplays. His specialty is thriller stories that step into the arena of espionage – a very popular topic at this particular time. William is a native of Chicago, received undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Illinois, and served as a Company Commander in the US Army. He then raveled widely in the US and abroad as a Vice President of the real estate subsidiary of a Fortune 500 corporation. William is also a landscape artist. Brown has succeeded in creating a staple in the thriller genre. Having read Books 1 and 3 of this trilogy it is especially fascinating to move into the interstices of Book 2. Brown defines his new character well - Bob Burke is a former sniper, Army Ranger, and Delta Force commander. And as this volume continues the adventures we learn, Bob Burke is back! It’s the American Sniper meets The Godfather, Round #2, or Bob Lee Swagger takes on the New York City mob. Mild-mannered and slight of build, this telecommunications company executive is easily dismissed as the "phone guy." After four tours running ‘special operations’ missions in Iraq and the rugged mountains of Afghanistan as an Army Ranger and Delta Force commander, he's one of the most lethal killers the US government ever produced. When one of his old NCOs takes a header from the fifth floor of an Atlantic City casino run by the infamous Genovese and Lucchese NY mob families, someone’s going to answer for it! This time, it won’t be a hunt with sniper rifles in a Chicago Forest preserve park. Bob and his Merry Men are going to take the Mob’s money, all of it, from a Mafia Don holed up in the casino’s penthouse, backed by a dozen mob gunmen and an elite team of foreign mercenaries. While there’s always a place for a Barrett .50-caliber sniper rifle or two, this time Bob calls on a pair of baby-faced computer Geeks, a two-star Army General, a Chicago homicide detective, a female Air Force pilot, a Russian computer programmer, one of the world’s most renowned pickpockets, and his new wife, Linda. From stealth helicopters to luxury yachts, fishing trawlers, and bodies in 55-gallon oil drums, the action is non-stop.’ Brown’s writing style is commensurate with the flavor of his thrillers – ‘Over the years, Bob Burke had watched a lot of people die. He probably even killed more than his share; but that was during two wars, and this wasn’t Iraq or Afghanistan. He was flying in a 767 over suburban Chicago, and for a second he forgot where he was. He unbuckled his seat belt, stood, and shouted, “That guy’s killing her,” and pointed out the window.’ And on it goes. Few writers today match Will’s style with thriller on a contemporary stage. He never lets us down, and this book is especially strong! Grady Harp, September 17

Fun action, other stuff not so much.
I read the first book in this series and found it a good read for the genre. I won't go into too much detail since I do not wish to spoil the story. it is in the first book Burke meets Linda, the mother of a six year old child. in the the second book the two are married. Burke goes to the aid of a friend that will involve shooting and Linda insists ongoing along without regard for the child. In the first book the child was in danger from the bad guys and now in the 2nd the mother goes off on an adventure and leaves the daughter with a sister. a false note to me. Plus dialogue between Burke and his wife gets cloyingly cute at times. It reminds me of the later Spenser novels by Robert B. Parker and the interchanges between Spenser and the love of his life Susan. If you don't mind a heavy dose of saccharin I think you will enjoy the action sequences.

Plenty of action and drama - and loads of bodies!
Bob Burke gets the old team together to r avenge the death of another ex-colleague. The title gives the clue to the arena in which the action is played out this time. However, much of the stealth aspect is of a more subtle, yet potentially even more effective, than type than on previous occasions!!

Second action thriller starring BobBurke
This book was action start to finish. One of Burke’s Delta buddies is thrown through the fifth floor window of a casino in Atlantic City. No one gets away with killing one of his squad. Game on. Couldn’t wait to turn the page. Looking forward to book three. ENJOY!

Burkes Gamble,
So far I have read all threrre "Burkes Books" and found them all extremely good and intsersting. Its a good slant to have a retired Telephone Boy, whois really a Delta Force guy... and the things he can do! I love the twists and turns in the stories, can't wait for more of them to be produced Great work Willam Browne...Well done 😁

Casino Crime
Bob Burke tries to help one of the men from his old unit with a gambling problem, but before the debt can be paid Vinnie "falls" from a high-storey window and is now dead. The local police appear to be in cahoots with the casino owners, so Bob calls in his band of fellow ex-special ops guys to resolve and avenge the death of their mate. Fast-paced, over-the-top, action-packed story.

A bit of a gamble!
The second book in the Bob Burkes action thriller series with much the same cast as in book one and this time one of their own is killed by being thrown out of a casino window. Again an all action turn of the pages with the build up confrontation at the end with the “good guys” winning the day Somehow not as enjoyable as the first book as much the same going’s on and build up so didn’t keep my interest the same which was a great shame as i was looking so forward to it after reading “Burkes War” but if you like all action and the bandies getting their just reward then this is still worth a read.
