I have tried various pepper bird seed in an effort to prevent the squirrels from consuming all that I put out and seeing the better price of this brand I decided to give it a try. While it definitely proved less desirable to most of the squirrels, there were still some that had no problem eating it and as a result I am going back to the more expensive brand. Nevertheless, if your goal is to have suet that resists attack by squirrels then I think that it is worth giving this a try since your results may be better than mine and there definitely were fewer squirrels that seemed to attack this. Oddly, my biggest problem was due to a raccoon that was not bothered by the hot flavor at all. The issue that a few squirrels as well as a raccoon attacking the suet is why I deducted one star in my rating. Still, the good price and the fact that all the birds seemed to like this suet led me to give it a solid 4 stars.

Woodpeckers love this stuff! So fun! We’ve had Downy Woodpeckers and Northern Flicker Woodpeckers and I’ve noticed the House Finches and Pine Siskins snacking on it as well.

Smells good. Not hard and brittle. Easy to put in feed. Just the right size. No problems or issues.

Birds seem to love this suet

I gave a three star rating for the price and quick shipping. I felt this suet was at a great price with great variety. However, it just doesn’t attract birds at all. In fact - it seems to have the opposite affect. I even threw a brick of it to the squirrels - who usually love suet. They didn’t even eat it.

The product is fine, but, you can not return. I thought I was getting 2 boxes like another supplier but it was only 1 …. so twice as much as another supplier. I would not order from this supplier again.
