Will this fit on a power wheels dune buggy?

Not sure if it’s the same size but most of the kids style battery motorcycle have the same style switch. Sorry for late response.

Any tricks to remove the old switch that is not accessible from the bottom?

I had to remove the motorcycle bike seat to get to the switch to remove it

Can you tell me if the 3 positions are maintained or is the forward/reverse positions momentary?

The positions maintains till you change the position. If you put it in reverse it will stay there till you change the position.
