Invento EN31 steel rod is not Stainless Steel. Normal Carbon Steel is an alloy of Iron and Carbon. Stainless Steel should contain at least 10.5% Chromium and less than 1.2% Carbon. EN31 steel contains 1.4% Chromium, 0.5% Manganese, 0.2% Silicon and 1% Carbon. Invento EN31 steel rod is 'hard chrome plated' and used in industrial applications for its hardenability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. For normal applications EN31 steel rod is rustproof and abrasion resistant.
