Works Great as am air compressor after-cooler. Well built and efficient
I am not using the Tru-Cool H7B ENGINE OIL COOLER for its intended purpose but it functions exceptionally well none the less. It is being used as an air compressor aftercooler placed between the compressor pump and the receiver tank. When combined with a 10”/1100 CFM axial fan this cooler produces a 250* F drop in air temperature and helps remove a significant amount of moisture from the air charge. The cooler is well built and flows air exceptionally well. The cooler produces such low resistance that my compressor fill-time from empty is on average 20 Sec. shorter. I attribute this to increase in air density due to lower air temperature.

Massive cooler
After having my 1975 truck transmission rebuilt I decided to add an external transmission oil cooler to my truck. I originally bought a standard unit from a local auto parts store. My transmission shop commented that it was undersized. It also had a small leak and needed to be replaced. I decided to put this unit in.When you look at it you will have a hard time seeing light through it until you get it at the correct angle. The core is dense and there is airflow. This unit will obviously decrease the heat in the oil as it passes through.Connections are 1/2" threaded and I had to adapt that to work with my lines.Overall, a nice heavy duty unit.

Airflow is key
I started with one cooler in front of the radiator. It was ok as long as I was traveling at a good speed. Does not perform in stop and go traffic, and whenslowly climbing steep mountain logging roads. Needs enough air flow. I added a cooler (another brand) with a fan under the hood that turns on at 145 deg. and shuts off at 125 deg. That was almost satisfactory but not quite. So I added another Tru Cooler in front of the radiator. So far the hottest the tranny's gotten working up the steep hills is 182 deg. That's with the fan cooler running. Otherwise the tranny would still get too hot. Cruising down the highway, depending on outside temp, the two Tru Coolers keep the tranny cool. Airflow is key. I'm happy with my three cooler setup. I recommend having at least one cooler with a fan.

Used this for a transmission cooler line delete on a 1990 K3500
This thing is an absolute monster of a cooler. I finished a transmission cooler delete on my truck and installed this at the rear of bed. It lowered temps by about 40 degrees. Solid construction and great cooling capacity. I still wanted the temps a little lower, so I also installed a Derale with a fan and now I can tow anything without having to worry about skyrocketing temperatures.

Solid unit and good price. It's a large cooler with a 1 ...
Solid unit and good price. It's a large cooler with a 1 1/4" thickness and helps keep my ford c6 transmission (non locking torque converter--produces more heat) in a good temp range. I previously bought a B&M cooler which was half the size but the same price, and both coolers have the same markings. They have the same factory stamping and markings which suggest one factory in Mexico produces coolers for many companies--at varying price points. You could pay more for a B&M box... Or buy a same quality Tru-Cool.

Very nice cooler, same as the b&m version with same part number but at a much much cheaper price. Used on my 69 gto th400 and it works great. It's a heavy duty well made piece of equipment.

which are much better than those zip-strips that can ruin radiators
These Long coolers, with the stacked-plate design and the Low Pressure Drop feature, are really the only choice for quality cooling in modern transmission applications. I have been using their products for 24 years as a transmission technician, and won't use any other brand if I have the choice! Most kits come with hose and mounting straps, which are much better than those zip-strips that can ruin radiators, condensers, etc. These large ones also make good engine oil coolers. Can't go wrong with Tru-cool!
