I love this! I have always wanted to get a toaster that could handle not only making grilled cheese (which it does excellent!) but also toasted sandwiches. Oh, the things I've made with this. I use it nearly every day. The caddies that hold the sandwiches fit perfectly and keep everything nice and tidy, and cleaning up is as simple as just washing them off. I've had mine for about 3 or so years and it works just as good now as it always has. Highly recommended!

Poorly designed. Cheaply made. This was a gift and such an embarrassment. I told them to just use it for toast and found it was catching one piece of bread and burning it. Definitely cannot put 2 regular slices of bread with cheese in between it without the bread catching fire. Cheese doesn’t melt. Do not buy!!!!

The concept is good but the actual product needs improvement. This is simply a toaster with "toasting baskets" you can place into the toasting slots. It will fit a bagel. The cooking of a grilled cheese sandwich is taking 2 pieces of bread, buttering on the outsides, adding a few pieces of cheese, bacon, tomato, whatever and cooking. The two sides of the sandwich cook unevenly with one side inevitably burned and the other unevenly toasted, but at least not burned. Sometimes the cheese melts. The sandwich is not tightly smushed together as one in a frying pan is. It is basically just burned toast. The toasting baskets are A BEAR to clean. They have all kinds of places to trap melted cheese. I ended up having to put them in boiling water with dish detergent and then use a steel wool pad, toothpicks and finally Q-Tips to get the mess off them. This product could be soooooo improved if the surfaces were coated in some kind of a non-stick coating and an effort was made to keep the surfaces as flat and smooth as possible. The plus is it is a bit faster than a traditional frying pan version, but the sandwich is still unevenly cooked/burned. And after cleaning up, it has probably taken longer overall. It's a great idea, unfortunately poorly executed.

I got this toaster today. I left it to slow toast for exactly one hour and my grilled cheese came out looking like charcoal. Smoke detectors have been going off for nearly 50 minutes. How am I expected to eat this? Just kidding. This toaster doesn’t take an hour - It toasts perfectly grilled cheese in just minutes. It actually works great. One thing I would say is just try to keep anything you would put in your sandwich from touching the heating elements and remain within the provided baskets and it won’t start smoking on ya. I learned that back in toaster school 101. I found the slots to be adequate for toasting two regular sized slices of bread (about one half inch or one centimeter depending on your religion) with two slices of cheese in the middle. Tomorrow I’m going to go out on a limb and throw in a tomato in the middle. Wish me luck. I’ll get back to y’all with my results. I’m pretty stoked I found this cause at the moment i believe it’s the most affordable toaster on Amazon and also I love grilled cheese. Gotta go toast toast! Bobby *Update: It can handle a grilled cheese with 2 slices of 1/8” thin sliced tomato laid side by side. This is a whole nother level of awesomeness. *Update 2: After 1 week, the lettering stamped on the toaster for toast settings rubs off with the slightest touch. It’s like the ink is poor quality . I’m reducing my review to 4 stars for this. Still a good toaster for the money

Very easy to use, makes grilled cheese sandwiches without the frying. I recommend preheating, it seems to cook better if you take the time to preheat. I dislike blackened sandwiches, so I set it on the lower side of the "melt zone" and they come out golden and crispy. I use soft garlic butter slightly melted to quickly butter the bread. I tried some Cajun garlic butter spray sold here, but it comes out red, which doesn't really show when cooking multigrain sandwiches. So far, I am very satisfied with this item. I'll update if it burns out etc. UPDATE: 11/8/19: Still working well. My husband loves how the sandwiches are toasted. I really wish they made this item in stainless or black so it would go with my other appliances. I put a Ritz toaster cover over it to make it less of an eyesore on my kitchen counter.

Its been a great gift. In 2025 it was register 4 times alone. Funniest thing ever. Box doesnt hold up over 4 Christmas very well.

This comes with an American plug therefore incompatible in the Uk, not mentioned on the product description

As long as you use a normal cut or thin cut of bread this makes great grilled cheese, my son switched from making them On the stove with the frying pan to using this toaster almost exclusively. The thing is that thicker cut bread will end up burning or you have to squish it really thin with your hands before hand

First, this thing could be great, the sandwiches were good, and exploring ideas was fun while it lasted. There in is the rub though, while it lasted. I bought the 'toaster' back in July and it lasted only a few months. As great an idea as it is, it's flaws really work against it. The issue with the thing are the baskets. There are three issues with them; first, they are too narrow, two standard slices of white bread and a slice of cheese are too thick, you have to squeeze to get the sandwich in. This is what causes the smoking others have mentioned, the bread is bulging out the grill causing it to smoke. Just a quarter inch more and it would be fine. This leads to problem number 2, the baskets are too short and don't sit deep enough in the slot. So, a standard size slice of sandwich bread sticks out the top by about a quarter of it's height, leaving most of it toasted ... most. And problem number 3, the baskets are really cheaply made ... really cheaply made. Both of mine are now broken, the tines started breaking away from the frame after the like 2nd use. A final problem with the unit is, it does not cook evenly, one side always was about 25% more done than the other. Make the slots wider, much wider, so the baskets when inserted site suspended away from the burners enough to stop the burning/smoking. make the baskets themselves wider to actually fit a sandwich and it has to be deeper, the entire sandwich needs to fit into the slot, not just part of it, and finally, put some craftsmanship into it, this thing is really cheaply made and looks it. I found from using it, the secret to getting it to work was shorter times but repeat. So, a standard time I use was the #3 setting. Put the fixings together and in the basket, grill it at #3, then, take the baskets out and flip the sandwich around and upside down, then back in at #3 or less again. That worked perfectly for me every time ... till both baskets broke ... of course now it can't be safely used at all. Overall, a nice idea but bad design and construction make it a bad purchase ... so, a warning for future buyers, it is a great idea but not well built, buy at your own risk ... I'd certainly not recommend it.

It is a good product but it was not wide enough even when I purchased the wider one. Just wish it was wider but does work well if not adding anything extra.
