Great to use on a cat scratching pole
Used this to rewrap a cat scratching pole, worked very well.

Works well for re-roping a cat scratching post.
I cannot yet speak to durability or sturdiness, as we just re-roped two cat scratching posts with it. Seems about the same as sisal rope of similar thickness that we've used in the past, but the price point was slightly better. The cats are using it and seem to like it. One of our cats in particular is very hard on sisal rope and we have to re-rope the posts he regularly uses about once a year. Hopefully this will hold up, but only time will tell.

4 Stars for Quality | 3 Stars for Preference
I gave it 4 stars for the quality, but 3 stars for personal preference. I was expecting the roughness, but I was also hoping for a "cleaner" look. Out of the package this rope is "hairy"/wiry, I did give it a trim, but it didn't help much especially if the cat scratches it. I wrapped this rope around a metal load bearing post I have in my apartment for my cat. I think my cat would prefer to climb on it (if I had wrapped it higher) more than she does scratching it. I have seen her use it, but not as much as the cat scratcher that came on her cat tree (which is smooth and not wiry even after she has used it). I did not use all the rope for my cat scratch project, and I'm not sure what I would do with the remaining rope. Over all it's a good quality, just not my personal preference.

This rope does not have a chemical smell like other rope we tried
After our cat decided to redesign our leather sofa, we figured out that she was too tall for her old scratching post.Time to get creative! We created a new scratching post for our cat using an 8" cardboard cement form wrapped with an area rug and the rope wrapped around that.I should have ordered 2 because 100' only covered the top fourth of the new scratching post. Of course this is my fault and not the manufacturer. The cat loves her new scratching post, and this rope has been on for almost 2 years with minimal signs of wear. It does "shed" a little, but this is to be expected because we have a cat digging its claws into it several times a day. This rope does not have a chemical smell like other rope we tried.I'll be buying again in a few years after the cat destroys this rope.

Simply the best cat tree upgrade you can get.
Just like most of the others I purchased this for my cat. We had a cheap tree with that mat carpet and she shredded it without much thought. It was no longer something she would even mess with and started to find other things in my house to sharpen her claws on. Before I hung her by her toe nails I figured I better find a better solution and thought of this. So I purchased a role and pulled the old carpet off and rolled this on. I secured the top and bottom with two truss head screws and left about foot and 1/2 hanging from the top for her to play with.It was an instant hit and she now loves that thing. Best cat toy money can buy and it's great anger management insurance LOL......

Good stuff. I live in corporate housing
Good stuff. I live in corporate housing, so it's fully furnished with no real room to add things like a cat tower for my cats to scratch on. The kitchen table is really high and single legged, so I taped cardboard around it, then used a hot glue gun to wrap the sisal rope around the cardboard all the way up. 1/4 inch is the exact thickness you're looking for if you're using it for cats (not sure what else this is used for). Measure before buying, otherwise you will might not have enough and have to be waiting a few more days for another order to arrive like I did. Two rolls was the exact amount that I needed. Sorry that the pictures are sideways. Not sure why they did that when I uploaded them, or how to fix it.

Covers Cat Tree well.
I bought this rope to replace the rope on a expensive cat tree. My cat had clawed all the rope off the bottom vertical tubes. I cleaned it off well then applied a generous amount of hot glue to start and applied more glue 2/3s of the way around each layer of rope as I twisted it onto the tube. This rope is about 1/16" thicker than the original and looks great. There were no fumes. The cats went right to it and yes, they are working it over every day. The rope is holding up well so far. I ordered more than needed so I can replace sections as needed.

Good for projects
Bought some 1/4" sisal rope for repair on a cat tree. The rope unwinds nice if your working on a project. I Just put the roll on the floor and cut the strings holding it together. I grabbed the end and no tangles. I've bought sisal rope several times from several suppliers and T.W. Evans is pretty good. My only problem is that with this last order, the rope had a good amount of loose straggly pieces off the rope. After I was done my project I had to go back and clip all the little strands sticking out. I haven't had that problem before with TW Evans. They're still up there though compared to some others. Chemical and odor free which is good for pets. I'll always buy TW Evans if I'm needing.

Works great but horrendous price
Really wish the price was better. We bought one a few months ago to see if the cats will like it. We had to redo the cat tree leg.Pro: so far hasn't shed everywhere like the original sisal rope of the tree used to. It used to be a giant mess as the cats would spread it all over the house.Cons: I bought it a second time earlier this month and the plan was to buy 3-4 and see if I can save some money on the shipping and handling fees but the price was showing up as $30 and change and no way to save money on the extra fees. Got stuck buying only one and now I see the prices are separated again. Truly frustrating.4 stars because of the quality but was tempted to give 3 because of the ridiculous price.

Not what I was expecting.
The rope is good, but not what I was expecting. I wanted to redo all my cat tower legs. It says 100 feet and I'm sure that it is (I never actually measured it), but the bundle is so small that I know I'm not going to be able to use it. I can only do probably a leg and a half, which doesn't work. I ended up purchasing a thicker rope through a different company for a lesser cost. In the end, the rope does appear to be good but just not suitable for my project.

Essential cat tree rope
I picked this rope up to redo my cat tree posts that my cat destroyed. This rope is nice compared to the garbage they sell at hardware stores. 1/4 inch is the size to work with for wrapping a cat tree post. I brushed on a little glue, made sure it was tight, and now it looks brand new for my cat to scratch. Very dusty and messy to work with but that is the nature of sisal rope.

Exactly what I needed
Easy to work with and exactly what I needed to fix my cat tower. My cat's love the texture of the rope too. It was shipped in proper packaging to keep the rope dry and contaminant free. No odor or unnatural texture. Product lives up to its advertised features. I highly recommend this rope.

Perfect to repair scratching posts
We have two active young tomcats who can destroy scratching posts in short order. They really like the sisal rope ones but once they've shredded the rope they're not good for much. With this, though, we've re-done two posts like new.
