what is the diameter of the threads? 1' or 1 3/8"?

I have the Camco 02162: OD of threads measures just over 1 1/4", which is the same as a standard 1" water pipe thread.

I would like to fix this heater element (Camco 02162/02163) with Stainless Steel 304 Cast Pipe Fitting and round shim. Could tell me the good choise for these 2 pieces ? Thxs. Fromfrance

Anyone know if a 240 v heater could be powered by 120v? I ask because I want to build an inline heater that doesn't get super hot, just warm. Thanks

Yes, you just cant run 240 through a 120 heater. I'm assuming you are using this for brewing beer? That is a very common usage of running 120 through a 240 heater.

Can anyone tell me the length of the element, not including the threaded part? thanks

the camco 02162 that i measured was 4 7/8 in. from face of threaded part to end of element. (12.3825 cm) caution camco elements seem to vary somewhat physically and electrically unit to unit even for same part # but less than 5% plusminus in my measurements. i use varied elements for load testing lithium bike batteries.
