I use to be a big coffee drinker and would grab my first cup in the morning. But I noticed the staining it was causing on my teeth and started cutting way back.I had never really been a energy shot or drink person - until I cut back on the coffee and started replacing coffee with a energy drink that to me, tasted like those fizzy rock candies we use to eat as kids - god awful - then I switched to 5 Hr Energy. I’m more of a slow burn to rise and the 5 hour energy helped me to get the feet on the floor and start my day a hell of a lot quicker than several coffees in bed could ever do!After several years and fast forward to now (2026) like many, I too started feeling the pinch of the economy and did not want to give up my morning “go juice” but at $3-3.50 a bottle, I started realizing that I needed to try and find a alternative.I tried the grocery brand of the 5 Hour - that was a Hell No. I looked on Amazon and tried several different shots but none that I found that gave me the boost I had grown accustomed to. Then one day I happened upon this “Shot in a Box” and at the cost it was advertised at I looked further into it. I liked the ingredient list as it is very similar to my previous morning wake up, and the reviews were mostly very positive. So I took the chance and bought a Cherry. Within 4 days it was delivered.It has very easy to follow instructions for set up and comes with two “shot bottles”.I didn’t give it much hope if it would actually do the job but I went ahead and gave it a try the very next morning.I immediately became a convert! The taste is decent - almost good - for an energy shot, but the big difference is the results I got. Better by far then the 5 Hour Energy, wasn’t a nervous kind of result, more of a pinpoint focus and motivated to get up and start my day! I did not feel any kind of a “crash” later in the day. It seemed to keep me going and I didn’t need another shot like I would some days with the other (probably because it would give me a crashing feeling). I am sold - and actually just placed an order for my second box as I never ever want to be without it). If you are on the fence about purchasing this amazing concoction, I HIGHLY recommend it as in my opinion, it is much better than what I had been using for years, the taste is tolerable, and the pricing is good for what one receives. Thank you for making a great product and at the same time- not gouging your customers!!

Back about 25 years ago there was some items on the market that was using ephedrine and, that worked for me back then but ever since they made it illegal, I have not found any thing that has giving me a noticeable boost of energy until I purchased this. From day one when my first package came in and I tested this energy shot I noticed right away that my heart rate had gone up and it gave me a very substantial boost of energy. I haven't felt a bump of energy like that since the no-dose ephedrine was on the market. I have tried pretty much every single energy drink and energy shot on the market and none of it even comes close to the amount of energy I receive when I take one of these shots. This is now my fifth package of these because they do really work. I normally only get between four and four and a half hours of sleep per night and I have gotten used to just that little bit of sleep so now when I get less than that four or four and a half hours I'm real sluggish but if I get more than the four four and a half hours of sleep my body aches all over. Now if I only get 3 hours of sleep I just do one of these energy shots and it increases my energy tenfold. If I sleep more than four and a half hours I take stuff that helps with the aches and pains but I take a shot of this and again my energy gets boosted. On the days I sleep more than four and a half hours I really don't need that extra energy boost but it is very nice especially when you're in your 40s. This increases my energy so much it makes me feel like I'm 20 years younger. Seriously this is a really good product and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you go without it being in your pantry.Edit: 5/1/2025,So I have been ordering this for quite some time and it is still worked throughout this whole time. Which is very surprising cuz normally they stop working after your body gets used to it. What I want to say this time is I have ordered three out of the four flavors The only one I haven't tried is a peach. I tried the cherry the taste surprisingly for being cherry was very good then I tried the screaming tangerine. I thought I would like that but it honestly tasted like dirty feet. So I tried the watermelon, the watermelon has got an extremely good flavor and I have ordered it twice now. The thing is both times that I have ordered this The tracking stated that it would be about a week or so before it would get here both times within 2 days after ordering this product it was sitting at my address. This is very impressive considering both times it said it would be a little more than a week and both times it arrived within 2 days of ordering not two days after the first 24 hours it was literally 48 hours after I press the order button. Superb!

So, all through college and most of my work years so far in different facilities have me heavily relying on caffeine that isnt coffee or tea.I scraped by for years buying the 5-hour energy drink brand name, sucking up the expense because it didn't let me crash like so many other things did.I tried this on a whim because I needed something easier on my account and I didn't want to do caffeine pills or amp up my caffeine intake even more when half the time I am dehydrated working at a hospital.I am really friggin shocked by a taste that isn't terrible but more importantly, lasts me the majority of the day, even working on a very labor intensive unit.I find that the one shot (300mg) can get me by the entire day of my 12-13 hour shift.I can definitely tell when it is wearing off, but I am low-key a bit afraid to do more than the 1 shot a dayI've been pounding the extra strength 5hour energy shots for years and didn't think this would be enoughBut I am pleasantly surprised that it works really well for my needs.I made the mistake of doing 150mg shot about 2 in the afternoon and I couldn't sleep till like 2 am. 😂Lesson learned.I am pleased that it tastes better than what I am used to for energy shots and packs a bigger, longer lasting punch.It also just feels right being cold and coming from a tap in a box in my fridge.I presume it's probably okay to drink it unrefrigerated but I just like it better cold.

Overall I like this product quite a bit. It is definitely worth a try if you are someone who likes products such as 5 hour energy.I have bought 2 cases of this stuff so far and have had some fairly mixed results with it but overall I think it works well enough.Pros.Cheap! Approximately 60 cents per 2 ounce shot as opposed to around $3 for a 5 hour energyNoticeable increase in energy most of the time.When it works it really has a good effect.Refillable bottles makes carrying energy around with you a breeze.Measurements on the bottle make it easy to take precise doses.You can prolong the effects by taking a half bottle (1 ounce) a couple of times instead of the whole two ounce at once.Much milder taste than 5 hour energy.Cons.In my case at least, I get diminishing returns if I use it for several days straight. I get the strongest effect if I haven't used it in a few days.I also notice that sometimes it doesn't work as well if I am already really tired or exhausted. The best result seems to be when you take it before getting to that point.The only thing really keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the inconsistent results I have with it. When it works it is great, but it sucks when you need some extra energy and you don't get the effect you were looking for. This product is best for those who only need an energy boost occasionally as it seems to not work as well if you have been using it regularly. This could just be me though.Though it could also be mentioned that after taking it I seem to have slightly higher energy levels overall for the next day or two, so it may take awhile to get through your system.The main point is that it does work and you will know it as there is a very noticeable increase in energy. I also have not noticed any negative side effects while using it such as jittery hands or anything. The first couple times I used it I got a mild headache but that could easily have been due to something else and not related to the energy shots.

Been meaning to write an X-Mode review for a LONG time now... turns out I've been buying this stuff religiously since summer of 2015 (confirmed via examination of my inbox's Amazon emails). The taste is great in my book (although folks who are opposed to energy shots' flavor in general likely won't be swayed), and X-Mode’s results are superb.A morning X-Mode shot, easily dispensed into a resealable, reusable bottle, is what sends me on my way each day. Simpler than making coffee, quicker than drinking down a thermos, and certainly better than a can of Red Bull, Monster, or other bubbly energy swill, X-Mode is the caffeine-delivery method you didn't know existed, much less realized you actually needed!A recent X-Mode epiphany: moving to beautiful West Texas several months ago, I now go camping often. This is a great product. I was buying individual shots at ridiculous prices for a long time because I don't like the taste of coffee. This stuff tastes very good, and is way cheaper and less wasteful than 5hr Energy. I've ordered it dozens of times and really like it.There's only two things I don't like about it:It's not available with Amazon Prime so shipping is a little annoying. I basically have to make sure I order a box when I open my last one, since I can't get it in two days.The cherry and watermelon taste great. I haven't tried the tangerine. But IMO the sour apple (a flavor I usually really like) is really bad. It's weird, it seems to have a decent after taste of all things, but when it first hits your tongue it tastes really weird and not at all like your usual sour apple-flavored things like jolly ranchers.But that's it. I sort of alternate between cherry and watermelon, and I love the product. I even 3D printed a little box to mount this to the wall of my shop :D*edit 03/2026*According to Amazon, I've ordered this 50 times. Sounds about right! This stuff is great, and the amount of money it's saved me over 5 hour energy or something like that is incredible.I've noticed that some folks complain of digestive problems from this. IMO, that's something you can get from literally any high-dose caffeine product, and varies significantly from person to person. I've found that I definitely get an upset stomach after drinking this IF I don't eat something. Yeah, if I wake up and drink this on an empty stomach, then don't eat for a while I definitely feel upset. But literally any amount of food has been enough to fix that. I don't fault this product for that at all.

Initially bought this as a Christmas present sort of thing for the staff at my restaurant. I never cared much for energy shots, but couldn't pass this up when I came upon it.This works great both as a shot or as an additive to a softdrink. I particularly enjoy mixing the cherry flavor with Mountain Dew, it ends up tasting a bit like Code Red. The cherry flavor is much better than the tangerine. The tangerine isn't bad, but the cherry just tastes smoother, less like vitamins and mixes better with softdrinks.I was skeptical as to whether or not it'd be very potent, and holy crap does it work well. Sometimes I have to be careful with how much I take, but it never leaves me feeling jittery or uncomfortable.It comes packaged very well, and shipping is fast and free (usually takes 2-3 business days). The inclusion of the reusable bottles is nice, but I rarely end up using them. The spout is easy to set up and doesn't leak at all.The value is simply incomparable. It pays for itself in something like 10 servings.Great product and I'll continue to purchase it so long as it's available.
