She has outdone herself with Cohen and has forged him into the swoon-worthy, sexy, strong male lead that he deserved to be.Ms. Sloan is an incredibly talented, masterful storyteller. She gives her readers likable characters with such depth and detail and she gives us their full back ground. Her plots are exciting, interesting, creative and intensely sexy and romantic. This book kicks off what promises to be yet another stellar series, and I'm looking forward to reading anything and everything from the exceptional Harper Sloan. This series! Gah! Harper has done it again! I freaking loved this book so hard! I was addicted right from the beginning, and I stayed up all night reading it because I was desperate for more Dani and Cohen. I have loved every single book that Harper has written, they have all been 5 star reads for me, yet somehow she makes you fall more in love every time. Just when you think you know who your favorite is she writes a new book with a new couple that are to die for. I am not ashamed to say that I have a total girl-crush on Harper. She is one of my all-time favorite authors and an automatic one-click for me.One of the things that I love best about this author is that she has a true talent for blending humor, sadness, and suspense so effortlessly into every single book. I love books that make me laugh out loud one minute, and make me cry the next. Every book that I have read by this author has touched my heart in such a profound manner. She is amazing at creating characters that you love, love to hate, want to be with, want to be friends with, and want to have as your family.Dani was so sweet. I loved that she was shy and a hopeless romantic. She knew from a young age that she wanted Cohen. She never once wavered from that desire. She had the balls to put herself out there, and hope that Cohen would finally realize what had been in front of him all along. One of the things I love best about Dani was her strength and loyalty. She was an amazing friend, and she was willing to wait for Cohen as long as it took. Many people can't handle long distance relationships, but she proved that nothing is impossible when you love someone.Cohen was a strong man who stood his ground, even in the face of extreme danger, like facing down Axel when he decided to pursue Dani. Having struggled with his feelings for Dani his whole life, he kept pushing her away when he knew that she wanted something more than friendship with him. The only problem is that you can only push someone away for so long before you give in. These two were clearly meant to be together, and nothing and no one could keep them apart. I loved that even though the two were separated for a bit, they continued to think of each other. To dream of each other. To yearn for each other. They never once gave up on the other.While Cohen was facing down bad guys, Dani was left behind to face down her father; however, if anyone could go up against Axel Reid, it was his little princess. I absolutely loved the relationship between the two. Even as crazy over the top possessive as he is, Axel is the dad that I always wanted. He wanted nothing more than the best for his family, and even when he went about it the wrong way, it was clear that he always did it with love in his heart. I loved the fact that the couples we fell in love with in the Corps Security Series make an appearance. Even though some are only in their briefly, Axel and Izzy are around a lot. We also get another fan favorite in the form of the marvelous Sway! He is still rocking that glitter!I really enjoyed the story line in the book. I liked the build up and the wait for Cohen and Dani to get together. I loved the way they were when they were with each other. The sexy times were outrageously HOT! You will not think of Cohen as a little boy anymore. He was all ALPHA male, and he certainly knew how to take care of his woman.I always enjoy a book that is written in a dual POV! It's always more interesting to me to know what both people are thinking. Not only does it give you a better idea of who each person is, but it almost always results in some pretty funny moments.I thought that the ending was brilliant, and I look forward to the next book in the series. It is definitely going on my favorites shelf, and I cannot recommend this book enough!! It is a must read!! I fell in love with cohen right from the beginning when he was a tiny toddler, with his love of superheros and his funny comments.
