Paté in a Can

Press Your Lunch & Press Your Dinner have been our go-to foods for two of our three cats that have special dietary needs. The aspic or gel-like form is purrrfect for our little man who tends to be a 'scarf and barf' eater and it's much easier and cleaner to use with our 13 yr old who has to be hand fed any wet foods. *** My only complaint is with the fact that almost every pack of Press Your Dinner purchased recently has contained anywhere from two to five cans of spoiled food. The cans do not appear damaged in most cases, so I am led to think that this is a processing issue. Also note, this has occurred with both can sizes. I appreciate that Amazon has kindly issued a refund on my most recent order, but I need the manufacturer to ensure that they are distributing consumable food.***

I never write reviews but decided to after seeing my 15 year old cat eat TWO cans of this a day when she previously would barely finish one. She's never been one to lick the bowl clean but she comes pretty close with this food (Press Your Lunch). I found the watery goopy consistency to be weird but I think that's what makes it more palatable for my cat to eat. It also makes it easy to just plop right out of the can without using a spoon. It is pretty expensive compared to other wet foods I've fed her but seeing as she actually likes it enough to eat 2 cans a day makes it worth it. I feed her this in tandem with dry kibble.

I was excited to discover that Weruva made a pate version of it's food. My cats have never liked shreds and would just lick off the juice and leave the shreds. I adopted a picky cat who was a dry food and junk food addict and wanted to switch him to a better quality food. He turned his nose up at first but then decided he couldn't get enough of this and licked the bowl clean which he hasn't done with any other food I tried. I really hope he doesn't change his mind because it is a great food without fillers and ingredients cats don't need. I also like that it doesn't stink up the house like some other brands. It smells like real chicken!

My cats like this, it was a replacement for something they were on for a while. Went through a lot of trial and error, so finally (for now anyway).

Update June 2026: Our cat still loves this food and it is back to being not runny. Update June 2023. The last 2 orders have been very runny and cans only 3/4 full. Before it was a more solid gelatin. I'm disappointed in this quality control because the cat likes it but I will start looking for a replacement. The photo is from the initial batches before it went downhill.

Very surprised about this cat food. I thought the ingredients looked rather good, so I ordered this food from this brand and my cat seemed to love it. He received 2 feeding and I noticed he had a loose stool, when I went to give him a fresh bowl of water I noticed diarrhea in the litter box. I went back to his old food and I noticed the poop is getting better. I think it is the greasy stuff on top, a little scary since this guy has never had diarrhea. Now, I'm stuck with the food, no credit. Try a new food at a brick and mortar store and only buy 2 ore 3 since this could happen to you! They usually let you take it back and if you can't you don't waste your money. A waste of 20.00 dollars!!!!

This is a finicky cat. While I greatly appreciate folks who go to the trouble to video tape opening the can, and plopping the food in a dish, and declaring it looks gross, well, it doesn't matter what us humans think of the food. My cat wants everyone to know that this stuff is AWESOME! She has been diagnosed as a "gobble and puke" cat which means many of her meals ended up later on the carpeting. Not so with PRESS YOUR LUNCH. She loves it, it is nice and soft (which I imagine means easy to digest), goes down and stays down. She recently had to have a fang pulled and some other dental work and had to be placed on soft food for several weeks. I thought she would get bored eating this every day but she did not. It also stopped her from begging for food every time anyone was near her dish. This makes me think it is filling/satisfying. Thumbs and dew claws up!
