Do these have a quick release that allows you to remove the earmuffs when you don't need them on? For example, when flagging?

Hello Enoch, these earmuffs have a backward swing. When clipped to the slots on yiur hardhat. This allows you to wear your hat and rest the earmuffs above the brim when needed. However if you wish you may unclip them from the slot. You do this by pressing onto the tab and pull from the slot.

Has anyone mounted these on a balistic helmet?

Hello Andrew, unfortunatly i have not mounted these on a balistc helmet. As these are designed for The MSA fullbrim safety helmet. The slots retaining these ear muffs are about 1 inch length and about a 1/4 inch wide.
