Used for a Different Purpose
I used this to thread my 2016 Mitsubishi i-MIEV electric vehicle charging cord through to an interior outlet. It reduces air transfer from outside. For extra insulation, I stuff some AmazonBasics microfiber cloths around and in any exposed areas where air is seeping in. I do not want any electrical issues. I just pull my car in extremely close to my home, thread in the cord through this vent kit, plug it in an interior outlet and I'm good. This product works extremely well for my needs. It was really easy to install. It secured in place nicely. I did not have any worry that it was going to break under pressure, have my window slam shut and subsequently a crunched cord. This is a good product. I highly recommend it.I was not compensated in any way for this review. I like to give open, honest and transparent feedback on products I like to try. Easy to install, works very well.
Works really, really well! Took us about 5 minutes to figure out how to get it to work with our AC unit (Delonghi PACAN125HPEK), but once we realized we had to take off *all* the pieces on the end of our AC's tube, it fit perfectly and holds up well in the window.

So easy to install
This was way easier to install than I anticipated. I had it in my window in less than 5 minutes. The reason it didn't get five stars from me is because of three things: 1) the little plastic tacks to hold the position you need for your window seemed a little flimsy, 2) the plastic isn't as heavy duty/thick as I would have liked (it was much thinner than the original window unit that had come with my AC unit that had cracked), and 3) the price was a little steep for what you get.

Better than the kit that came with the air conditioner
Before you order this, MEASURE the width of your current hose (doesn't come with the kit) and the height of your window and make sure this is the kit for you. The one that came with my original air conditioner was too tall for my window and only using 2 panels let a lot of heat back into the room. I thought my actual air conditioner was the issue, but it was the window kit that was the problem. This kit came with weather stripping, to help block out any heat. This is my first portable air conditioner, so I wasn't aware of other things I could do to help with the heat issue escaping back in to the room. While researching a new air conditioner to replace my current one, I learned a lot from reading the reviews. One was using weather stripping to stop the leaks. I had been using duct tape to try and hold it in the window (the original window kit was very flimsy, so had to tape it to the window so it would stay in one spot.) The duct tape took the paint off of my actual window, so I don't advise using that. The next thing I found was to wrap the duct with a special tape that holds in heat, up to 212 degrees. After I wrapped the duct with that tape, I put a towel around the duct, right at the window. That absorbs any extra heat that gets through. This kit came with a small weather strip, to help close the gap from the middle panel of this kit. Honestly, I didn't even need to use it. This kit worked that well for me. However, I did use a small piece on the middle panel, just in case. This kit stays in my window perfectly, without the duct tape holding it up. I am beyond impressed with this kit. I wish I would've had it from day 1. I would buy this kit, again and again.

Somewhat functional
Technically this works. One problem is it's not tall enough, so the exhaust from the AC can't fit into the hole since it hits the window sill. Also, because one piece slides into the others, it leaves a gap you need to fill. It's also pretty flimsy. The tape that's included is useless with bad adhesive. All that said, if you go to the hardware store and get some thicker insulation tape to seal everything, use duct or similar tape to hold the exhaust pipe to it, it can work alright.

Flexible window size (narrow to wide) with weather stripping included is great!!!
I am very happy with this product. It was easy to install and with the range of the adjustable size small to very wide it can be used in lots of applications if we every move and have a different window size. If it was an insulated piece I would give it a 10 but since it is not I give it a 9. I will buy my own insulating product to add to the back of this but the weather stripping they include is very good to get a tight and sturdy fit into the window.

gulrear Portable Air Conditioner Window Vent Kit - Not for tall or wide openings.
The description of this item says it will expand to fit a 59" window opening. NOT TRUE. My window opening is 58 " and the insert was almost 3" to short. And, if it is expanded the full length, it is not sturdy and could be easily knocked out of the window. We cut a piece of wood and wedged it in the top to try and make it work. After a very short time the vent hose fell off of the hose attachment piece. We used packing tape and taped the hose to the plastic piece. Needless to say, the whole thing looks very ugly. The AC works great so we will now be making a piece to replace this mess. That being said, if you have a small opening, 45" or less, it will probably work pretty good. You will need a hose clamp to keep the venting tube attached to the plastic piece.

Perfect
These things are solid and easy to install and adjust. Bought 3 for the summer and put them in my windows, that way all I had to do is snap off the hose and move the AC as I went from bedroom to office to living room. Work smarter not harder 😁
