This will change your coffee experience forever
I'm not an expert but I was not expecting such great results with this filter, right off the bat on my first extraction my coffee tasted completely different, I was able to taste its natural sweetness, something I wasn't able to achieve with my French press. No coffee grounds or whatsoever on the bottom of my chemex, great water flow, perfect fit for my chemex (6 cups). I was expecting lots of oils going through the filter since I read that only paper filters would absorb most of it and my god what a surprise when I found out a clean cup of coffee, so much less bitterness. I'm sure baristas will prefer paper for even more control over water flow but for us brewing beginners this is a great tool to start with.

You Need This!
Being somewhat of a coffee snob, I was reluctant to purchase this for use with my Chemex pour over coffeemaker. My fear was that the flow rate would be too high compared to paper filters and thus weaken the flavor of my brew with too fast of a soak. Not at all the case, whew! It’s going to be a significant cost savings over time, with an estimated ROI of just 2 months given the cost of good quality paper filters. Pro tip - lift it out of your carafe by the silicone ring and place it in a cup until it cools, then dump your grounds and rinse without burning your fingers.

One of my best purchases
I honestly think it's the best way to brew coffee. I've been using mine for about 3 years. Brewed countless cups at home, and it's been with me all round the world! Just chuck this in your bag and you have yourself a way to make good coffee. Durable and easy to clean, mine finally broke after years mostly because of my rough use. Fits every cone brewer I've tried, but honestly works without one as well, just on top of a large mug.

Pretty good for a reusable filter
I have a Chemex and prefer the disposable filters, but for some reason they are always hard to get. I got this to see if I could manage without them, and the answer is "mostly." But I didn't ding it any stars because I think that for most people this would be completely fine. I get more residue in my cup than if I were using the Chemex paper filters. That's to be expected. But it's really not bad at all, especially considering that I'm not bothering to grind my coffee any coarser (which they recommend you do). More of the oils are let through, so you tend to get a bolder flavor. If your beans are a little on the burnt side, your coffee will taste quite burnt. But if your beans are pretty light, like single-origin coffees tend to be, this can get more of the flavor through. This could be either a pro or a con, depending on your tastes and what kind of coffee you're using. For my usual "pot" of coffee, I use 45g of beans, which fits pretty much perfectly in this filter. Iced coffee calls for twice as much since it's a concentrate, and while that technically fits, there's basically no room in the cone for water. Again, that's not really a con, it's just something to be aware of. My Chemex with paper filters is only slightly better at tolerating 90g of grounds.

3.5⭐; extremely convenient, questionably equivalent
Product is as advertised. A copper-colored (though not copper) metal conical coffee filter has as a crown a black rubber band. Product fits Chemex coffeemaker in that the rubber band prevents its falling in - although reduces filtration surface area significantly vs. the (normal) use of paper filter, by being somewhat small vs. the coffeemaker itself's dimensions. Extremely easy to clean, and to maintain the appearance of! Too early to say whether durable. Half a star off for aforementioned size mismatch; one whole star off for *extreme* speed of filtration, 2x normal or more. There is no chance that with a smaller surface area, this filter is somehow doing the ordinary work of the paper Chemex filter several times as fast. Some compromise is being made to achieve this speed! I would like to give this product a 3.5, but Amazon does not allow half-ratings. 4 it will be.

Smoothest/cleanest cup of coffee
TL;DR: It filters "sludge", trade off is speed. One week of use so far. My set up is a burr grinder, kettle with a goose neck spout, and the $18 pour over carafe featured when you search "4 cup coffee pour over". The filter that came with the carafe is cheap and left grain and powdered coffee into the brew. I changed the grind size for larger and smaller to see if it would get better and nothing. A little research brought me to this filter. It's slower (takes about 2~3 minutes for 4 cups), but filters clean and smooth coffee. I'm currently working through a cheap bag of beans and it tastes better than most coffee shops. Can't wait to see what it does with quality coffee beans and if it slows down more after a few weeks of use.

Alters Chemex brew style and allows some silt through
If you use a Chemex this may not be the best option for you because of how this filter fits. Depending upon the size of your Chemex, the rubber lip rests on or inside the top of your Chemex, and that is the only place where it makes contact. That means the extraction method is altered because the water can get through the entire filter instead of only through the tip. This makes the extraction take significantly less time, which results in a weaker cup of coffee. Maybe that's what you like, but I personally thought the coffee tasted worse, not better. As for the silt, I mention it only because the item description specifically says it keeps grounds and grit out of your coffee. I knew that was unlikely to be 100% true, but I'm just mentioning it for factual accuracy. The amount of silt isn't awful, but it is present. All that said, the quality of the filter does seem quite good for what it is. The construction is quite solid, and the holes are finer than others I've used in the past. I'll keep using it sometimes, like when I want a quicker brew or when I have beans that I want a different flavor from.

I really like coffee and this filter is perfect
Bought to go with my Bodum pour over coffee pot and this was so worth it. The metal filter that came with it was rubbish and left grit in my coffee even on a course grind, this on the other hand is amazing and I even tested how fine I could grind the beans and still have a grit free coffee and was very happy with the results. Best purchase I have made for a while.

Love it
Way too expensive, but I love it. Coffee is great, might cog up depending on the coffee origin and freshness.

Makes delucious coffee
Contrary to some others’ reviews, I find this filter very easy to keep clean. I always rinse it out immediately after the coffee is brewed, before I sit down to drink it. I have never encountered any grounds stuck in the filter after running hot water through and sometimes, not always, using a brush. The filter drips through much faster than when I used Hario V60 papers, which take for ever. My coffee is brewed quickly so good and hot, and with excellent flavour. 5 stars to this lroduct
