The Last Musketeer #3: Double Cross

Fantastic, thrilling
My daughter and I read this series together and we loved all three books in the series, but Double Cross is our favorite among the three books. There are so many adventures in this book--the jail break, the encounter with a 1615 surgeon, the siege and many more. It's both suspenseful and hilarious. We loved it! My daughter says this is by far her favorite series of all time. We wish the author would write a sequel.

Exciting Climax to a Fun Trilogy
This is the third book in the Last Musketeer trilogy. While background is given, I don't recommend you start here. You'll be lost. And you'll enjoy the first two books anyway, so why spoil them? The essentials? Greg Rich, a young teenager from our time, has been trapped back in 1615 France where he has joined up with the Musketeers, also his age. All the while, he is trying to stop a villain and figure out a way to return to our time. This book opens pretty much where the last book left off. Greg and his friends have been captured and are facing execution in the morning. Even if they do find some way to escape, they would then have to race back to Paris in hopes of beating an army bent on overthrowing King Louis. Can they do that? Will Greg find the second half of the Devil's Stone so he can return to his our time? The book starts off with a bang and never really lets up. There was one section that wasn't high intensity action, but even then a musketeer's life was in danger. I had no idea how the characters would save the day, and I was often cheering along the way to the climax. Meantime, the characters were as fun to be around as ever.Fans of the series will be sorry to see the story end, but they'll enjoy the final ride as we get there.

An action-packed conclusion.
Whoa. After that ending, I just need to take a deep breath. An exciting, page-turning conclusion for an exciting series.

Medieval magic
This book is super exciting and it has a really good plot to the story. Right now I just want there to be another book that I can read.

Action packed fun!!
Action packed fun!!! I read this aloud to my 10 and 13 year old kids. We loved the first book in "The Last Musketeer" trilogy, hung in there with all the wonderful characters in the second book, and were richly rewarded in this third book! Three cheers for the Musketeers!

Kick ass
Well, I don't love it (though I think it's damn good). My son does. There aren't a whole lot of decent kind-of-for-boys stories out there (unless you go for that horrible Alex Ryder stuff). This series is great. Somewhat educational too with good historical detail. But yeah, thrilling stuff.

Stuart Gibbs got this series right on!
My 11 year old son read all the books in this series, one after the other, non stop. He couldn't put them down and then said how great they all were. Stuart Gibbs definitely has got the knack!!
