A PRESIDENT WHO TALKS TOO MUCH AND DOES TOO LITTLE
This is an extremely difficult book to review because most of it involves sharp criticisms of President Obama, Hillary Clinton and the foreign policy of the United States. It begins with with a discussion of the damaged caused by public.revelations about secret operations particularly the Osama bin Ladan raid. Although I had a top secret clearance when I served in the Navy the basic rule of "need to know" applied to me as well as everybody else. Obama trumpeted the raid for political purposes. His better course of action would have been to say nothing about it at least for some time and then not disclose any details about how the operation was carried out. The author then moves on to blame Obama for losing Iraq with too rapid withdrawal of our military forces from that country. Looking back to our failures in Cuba, and Vietnam a better policy, it seems to me, is not get involved militarily in any foreign state. But the failures continue with Iraq, Afghanistan and Lybia. The mid-east has been at war with itself for thousands of years and there is no indication that that pattern of behavior will not continue. In fact, it is probably better to let the middle-east sort itself out. The book's bias is completely against Obama's foreign policy not only as described above but vis-avis Israel and Egypt. It is not the intention of this reviewer to rebut or concur with Taylor's conclusions. The reader must decide for himself. Taylor is a former navy seal with extensive service in the mid-east. He also earned a PhD from Harvard in foreign affairs.

Don't vote for Hillary until you've read this book
This is a very well-written, well-sourced and well-reasoned book by someone who clearly understands the Middle East better than most people. He has served in combat there, and was a security contractor after he got out.If you are expecting a one-sided, partisan piece, this is not the book. He has plenty of criticism for Bush 43, and for other republicans as well. He also has praise for other Democrats. He starts with the indisputable betrayal from Obama and company, namely, the violations of operational security to enhance his political image and win an election. On the one hand, BHO prosecutes minor leakers of sensitive info, and with the other hand, he passes out all sorts of details about the OBL raid on Abbotabad to the Zero Dark Thirty movie makers. Revelations of sources and methods have always jeopardized operatives in the field, and he points this out very well. But he goes on from there to point out just how badly the Obama/Clinton/Kerry team bungled almost every foreign policy point in that region, and demonstrates what the consequences of such bungling has been.

Litany of a Failed Presendency
In the interest of full disclosure, I am also a member of the OPSEC group and share Scott's views on the Benghazi debacle and the Obama administration's use of leaks to advance its political agenda. That said, this book goes far beyond those two issues and is a strong condemnation of the misguided and often incompetent Obama/Clinton/Kerry foreign policy that has left our country in a weakened state. The book traces Obama's failure to aid the Arab Spring opposition in Iran when the dissidents were crying out for American support to help them overthrow the Ayatollas, to Obama's strong support of the Muslim Brotherhood in its efforts to oust our erstwhile allies Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and Libya's Qaddafi (recall he had abandoned his nuclear aspirations at our insistence and was coming around to our point of view), to his incompetent vacillation on the Assad/Syria question, and then his surrender to Putin in Russia. The book is well researched and very well written. Bravo Scott for saying what needs to be said about this disastrous presidency.

This book serves as an eye opener to the damage caused to America by incompetent leaders like Obama and Clinton.
The book must be read by all Americans before they go to the polls this November. Wake Up America, our country slowly but surely is being given to foreign leaders in exchange of personal gain for our current President Obama and his follower Hillary Clinton. It made me appreciate much more the service and sacrifice our soldiers make. These current leaders have betrayed our men and women, they don't care about them, just about their gain and reputation with global leaders. What a slap in the face. The Notes in this book contain more supporting resources and Appendix B all False Findings.

Gripping and Heart Breaking. Wonder why we don't trust ...
Gripping and Heart Breaking. Wonder why we don't trust our government....this is one BIG reason. Four killed because of incompetence and political gain. Same thing happened in Korea and Vietnam..."We Trusted and We were Betrayed." A current Candidate for President of the United States of America can not only explain away her inaction she can't justify it or marginalize it. Not backing our military or those who serve in the same capacity even in a contractual capacity...they serve America. There is no justification for such deplorable INACTION and complacency for those who serve our country no matter what the vain they serve.

Trust Betrayed
One of the clearest and most concise contemporary historical and political history of events I've read. Firm, steady, comprehensive leadership in America is severely diminished by America's leading power and his/her political and ideological self service. And that's putting it diplomatically. We're in trouble and have no one available to take control. Obama clearly doesn't want to and clearly doesn't know how. Thank you Scott Taylor for descriptive and analytical information! I also appreciate that you are not plaintive and whiney. The facts are clear, and you laid them out succinctly in a brief book. You have my vote if you ever decide to run!
