This of all that I have for Prepping is one of the most important items I have and all that do Prep should have on their lists of storage.

Might Work in an Emergency 1.05669 US liquid gallons.
My pasteurizer showed up within a few days of ordering it. First thing I noticed when I opened the box was that it looked dirty. It is smeared with lots of fingerprints. The second thing I noticed was the spout. It is banged up and bent over where the water probably won't poor out of it in a fashion to hit a cup. It looked like the spout was clogged with sawdust, but upon further investigation I discovered it to be metal shavings. This spout also does not look like the rest of the unit. It looks like the spout, handle and loop on the back are all made from aluminum. The aluminum really bothers me because it is going to come into contact with my water. The spout also looks very dirty and will not shine up like stainless steal is supposed to.Another problem I am having is that the top does not come off. The only opening to put the water in is at the wax "thermometer" hole and is only 1.25" in diameter. This means I am not able to clean it or look inside it at all because the chimney down the middle blocks the view of all but a tiny sliver of the interior. Considering what the outside looks like, this is a big concern. I have to figure out what to put into it to boil and clean it out without a brush. It is very light weight and open at the bottom. The chimney is a cone shape that is the entire width of the can, or 8.5" tapering to 2.75" at the top. This means it will heat a lot faster than if the chimney were straight because there is a lot more surface area toward the heat. It is also easy to transport so makes for a nice outdoor emergency situation contraption, but realistically if the water needs to be pasteurized, it probably isn't clean enough to not be able to check the interior fully for any crud buildup before using it again. The whole point of getting stainless steel is to be able to shine it so you know your water will be pure. This pasteurizer does not fit the bill for that because of the inability to clean the part that actually touches the water.

Works well.
The StoveTec Stainless Steel Water Pasteurizer works well. The construction is of very lightweight stainless steel. Because of the lightweight it is susceptible to getting bent or dinged up easily.Heating water was pretty straight forward. Pop off the lid and fill up the desired amount up to the max fill line. Then place on the StoveTec Rocket Stove or something similar. Pretty hard to screw up.Care should be taken to not get burned by the vast amounts of heat that go shooting up the center the moment you place it on a burning stove. The lid on mine is a tight fit. It's not a threaded lid. On the first use I pulled the plastic knob right off. I replaced it with a long bolt and washer.Overall, I'm happy with it and consider it an important part of the household preparedness kit.

Works great
Unlike the other reviewer, I did receive this item from Stovetec and couldn't be happier with my purchase. It works beautifully and is offered at a very reasonable price. I originally bought to use with my Stovetec Rocket stove, but can also use it with just a fire in the inner chamber like a Kelly Kettle. Think of this like a giant Kelly Kettle at about half the price. It's way to large for backpacking, but is great for car camping or a base camp.
