## Description

The Red Lion RL-SPRK200 230 Volt, 2 HP sprinkler irrigation pump is idea for both residential and commercial lawn and turn sprinkling systems. This pump features a rugged cast iron casing, high efficiency thermoplastic impeller and diffuser and is to easy to prime to 25-ft - no additional priming is required after the initial fill. This pump is not designed for 115 Volts and does not come with a cord. The pump must be wired into a 230 Volt power source. If pump is not performing to specifications, ensure pump is connected to 230 Volt power source.

**Q: I have a 1 1/2" suction line from the well.  Will this work into the 2" intake?**
A: Thank you for your interest in Red Lion products. We don't recommend doing this because you can risk starving the pump which causes cavitation (the pump will vibrate loudly) and will eventually damage the pump. It will also affect the performance of the pump. The owner's manual states, "Use only new, clean pipe or hose the same size as that of the pump suction tapping." Using smaller sized pipe would void the warranty.

This pump replaced a 2 HP lake pump for my sprinkler system. The old pump was over 15 years old and was still available to purchase, although the price was over $1,200. The Red Lion pump was 1/3 of the cost and was exactly like the old pump in that it was the same size, easy to install and 230 volt. It runs with very low noise and pumps the water from the lake to 9 zones and over 50 sprinkler heads with great pressure. I recommend this to anyone who wants an excellent quality pump at a great price.

### ⭐ Used unit? Stripped impeller threads

I am pretty certain this was a pre owned or previously returned pump. We have three other red lions on our ranch and they have been flawless. This pump was installed without problems for another pasture. It was wired for 230 volt and was good to go. Flipped on the circuit breaker and almost immediately it seized up and the overload protection tripped. I pulled it and was getting ready to return it ( which I really don't want to do) and thought to pull the impeller housing for a look. Sure enough, it was loose with the threads on the impeller stripped causing it to free spin and seize up. A simple replacement impeller would probably solve the problem but I am having a tough time getting a hold of the selling party through the Amazon platform. Hopefully someone who can do something about this will read this review and send a replacement impeller before the return window expires. These have been great pumps and the only reason this would have happened is a customer return or something like that.
